Thanks Francisco. I'm trying to copy this shop from a photo given to me by the client so i don't have a light plan as such! For the area lights would you create photometric free lights with large rectangles? This is how its looking so far -

Hi I'm trying to find a simple way to evenly illuminate my scene to no avail! This is a large shop interior inside an airport. I'm wondering if anybody has any tips on illuminating this scene without any external light sources. Every time if use spotlights the ceiling is very dark and i'm having trouble balancing it out. I've used 4 photometric lights with large rectangular sources to fill the area with light however i'm not sure if this is the best way?

I'm still having problems uploading / attaching images?

Hi I'm still trying to get my head around Gamma / LWT and it seems whenever I activate it with photometric lights I get a bleached / washed out appearance. Notice on the windows logos (bottom of tables) how the colour is very weak. Also in the scene there seems to be a bounced light effect under the tables which is unrealistic. Any ideas on this also? I'm interested in how people here found there way into freelance architectural visualisation and how you pick up work to begin with? I guess the best way is word of mouth when you are up and running, but how to start? Contact local developers? Advertise? Any tips welcome.

I am new to all this so please bear with me. I need to visualize a new build for a friend of mine and i'm not sure of the best lighting set up to use (Exterior). I have been using max for 10 years so i'm quite familiar with all the features, however i only use mental ray as I've not taken the time to learn Vray! Can anybody supply me with a scene template they use to give me a head start. Any other tips would be useful. Attached is an example. Cheers

Oh! Strange. No I don't see the effect. I think it is probably me being dim! LOL

It looks like the map is affecting the physical geometry in the viewport. I was wondering if it can be previewed like this so you can line up the effect with other things going on in the scene without having to render off the image?
