1. The Neighbourhood Manchester http://www.the-neighbourhood.com/
2. Looks great. Use a fall-off in the diffuse slot with the same map in each slot. Change the white value to suit and it will create a nice softness around the edges of your fabrics. Have it set to towards-away.
3. Agree with above comment about Reinhard or Linear Multiply. I would also say the textures need work. There seems to be no detailed bump or reflections/spec on anything. This will greatly improve the look of your renders. I think the images lack contrast. You have some fairly dark shadows under the trees but no real white point to contrast that. Maybe adjust the burn value if you choose to go with Reinhard Colour Mapping.
4. Looks great. Maybe a nice orange glow from the translucent lamp shade could look nice....? A sky outside the windows and some cushions on the sofa would bring it on I think.
5. The texturing of the metal work on both the lamp and the bench is great. Have you tried the wood on the bench as a slightly varnished look?
6. Filters can be nice but can't be used for animations. I usually go with catmull-rom or mitchell-netravali for stills.
7. I would unwrap your furniture, or adjust the uvw maps to make the wood grain run correctly on your book shelves. Try using invisible plane lights outside the window pushing light into the room. This will help brighten up the room without the need for 'area' lights. Add a slight blue tint to the fog colour of your table glass and reduce the fog value to 0.1, this will give you the nice colour around the edges of the table you see on the majority of glass furniture. Keep an eye on the contrast. If the windows are totally blown out, as they are, then the light hitting the floor would be just as strong and blown out. Also little details such as handles for the windows help add an element of realism. Just my 2 pence, I hope some of it helps
8. I can't see a reason why you couldn't get work in a studio. The work on your site is good and this image is great. Maybe try ticking 'clamp output' in the colour mapping dialogue. It might help the slight pixelation around the ceiling lights.
9. If you want to render in perspective view you will need to set up Vray exposure. If not then it will always be blown out unless viewed through a physical camera.
10. One other question, did the name come from the cartoon?!
11. I would say in the last image you posted the light/transparency on the curtains doesn't match the sky or light on the floor in the doorway. The light on the curtains looks like it would be sunset but the sky is totally blue and the light on the floor is very daylight blue too. In my honest opinion the chair doesn't match either. I love the floor and the fireplace model. Are the corners of the walls supposed to be a little dirty or is that A/O?
12. Add a slight bump or spec to your walls, maybe you will pick up little flecks of light which will definitely bring it out more.
13. I think some of the lights need a glow to stop them looking like blocks of white. The yellow comment above could be fixed by maybe just desaturating the yellows in post. I think finding much higher resolution images to put on the walls would greatly improve this. What material are the sofas?
14. Very nice. My only crits would be that the burnt out area is just a little too burnt out and the light on the backroom wall looks a bit photoshopped in.
15. Afternoon guys and girls, Does anyone know how to make the reference coordinate system options re-appear (world, view, local, etc)? I have no idea when they disappeared and haven't needed to make use of them for a while until today. It's driving me crazy so any help would be greatly appreciated. Have installed service pack etc and still nothing Thanks.
