hey just try the gfx card driver version which is best for old version of max and revert back to in it...it ll help u i think.

Hi CG, i have a 2013 ver of max in my new pc (i7) and installed max 2014 for upgrade..all went smoothly in installation after tat all max files icons r missing and showing like unknown file types..searched a lot in forums..there is no solution til now and most of ppls having this problem...but max files r working...icons oly missing...any ideas??? change icon also not available in file properties, checked changing ui also in max, deleted old app data in local/c drive...need to check with registry values of max.can anyone one hav idea ..coz once it hapn a long ago worked with this registry value,changing some values has helped me tat time....now i forgot tat..

instead of trying new card just try 2014.. or update the service packs for ur current version of max....it ll help u..

Dimitris, Do u hav any idea abt the max driver for quadros in autodesk site??they have performance driver for 2012 version oly..but most of peoples and offices using max 2013 and 2014... really it doesn't matter for them? they keep on updating software and recommending cards in tat list..but not a performance driver ??....am i wrong?

I strongly believe thiyagu arjunan was unlucky with his K2000...something was wrong with the card. hmm well dimitris...am unlucky or don kno anything than that ...except my card selection all ur suggestion worked well and grt for me to build my pc..much happy abt it..and this 770 doing much grt with my 3ds max..so here after i wont worry abt quadro..i just told my experience with quadro..tats it..other than tat every one kno u r grt in it...so keep on sharing ur knowledge and guide all buddy;-) And i strongly believe tat benchmark chart in my case...i particularly saying it coz i noticed improvements in max;-)) tats wat i need at last..

hi buddy i just bought gtx 770 and it too gd for 3ds max ..really loves it a lot..oly thing is heat..just try a cooler cabinets..rest all this card is outstanding one fro 3ds max and arch viz..

Hi elie, if u want a gd viewport performence go for old quadro cards instead of new k series..old quadro 2000 is so much better than new k2000 .i tried with max only and i ll suggest this oly if u looking for 3DS Max..even 4000 is grt..k2000 is not that much worth ..sry to say this ..i got and faced some performence laggings even a small views...my beloved dimitris know my prob;-) since he helped me a lot.. thanks bro....finally i changed my card and ordered gtx770..hope it ll help me ;-)

Hi Finally i replaced my new quadro k2000 and got GTX 770 2bg card and its god damn good with 3ds max 2013/14..viewport is too smooth and no lag at all..its much speed than quadro 4000..checked both cards;-) the bench mark scene city view from cgarchitect -its finished in 14 sec with shaded frame mode in max 2014, 16 sec in realistic mode..... this same scene took me around 28 sec with quadro 4000 in shaded frame mode...realestic ;-( my big time struggle came to end lol...thanks for some peoples who helped me a lot..
