  1. You change how you work, and get used to it. For me it's: - CTRL+Shift+Left Click (drag pen on tablet) = pan - ALT+Shift+LC = Orbit - CTRL+ALT+LC = Zoom I have a touch version so you can also drag your fingers on the tablet for zooming. And there's also a "scroll" button on the pen itself, but it just feels flimsy so i avoid using it. Photoshop, the same, ALT+Space+drag left/right = zoom in/out.
  2. Try applying any grass texture on those flat areas, doesn't even need to be tillable. In bitmaps settings there is a noise rollout. Set the amount to 100 and size to 0.001. Maybe this will work in your case.
  3. Just a reminder not to use Mentals IBL without Render Optimizer: http://www.infinity-vision.de/software/render-optimizer/ By default max is set to 64 samples for IBL and that is "conveniently" hidden in UI, and is also stupidly high value with Unified sampling. Start testing with 1, higher value will most definitely be needed, but as high as 64 almost certainly not.
  4. Adding Fusion to the list, there's a free version. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/fusion
  5. If you're using HDRI that is capable of producing directional shadows, you'll get them with mental. http://forums.cgarchitect.com/75415-mr-photons-ibl-fg-nothing-thime-better.html
  6. What does fog color do in vray? Yes, it's right there, in the main settings tab. It has region render but it's currently not implemented in coronas VFB, you have to set it up in main render settings, or open Max VFB and set it there. Nope. Yes
  7. Under maps Coordinates rollout for source select Explicit map channel. You'll probably need to set it's size to a much smaller value.
  8. Fusion is now free. What i would like to ask is, how do you guys use ArionFX? I tried it, and i just don't get it. It has that camera response list, but honestly all i see is different tinting of the image. Other options also, vignetting, film grain... Nothing that can't be done in Fusion (or just photoshop for that matter) with much more control.
  9. Yes, just a play on words with my username Basically just defocus like looking somewhere of to a distance, you can keep looking at the monitor i.e. through it. It also has a benefit of making you look like you're deep in the project
  10. I installed this, and have it set to 20 minutes countdown. So every 20 minutes it pops up and, following the 20-20-20 rule i do a 20 second "blank... stare"© At first those 20 seconds seem like an eternity, but remind yourself it's just a minute in an hour, you spend more time aimlessly orbiting http://free-countdown-timer.com/
  11. A similar question was asked recently on Corona forum, to see if i can find it... Here it is, check out video tutorial Romullus did: https://corona-renderer.com/forum/index.php/topic,5967.0.html
  12. Nothing special about it And quite simple setup, just one bitmap and A&D material. Download the scene and explore it.
  13. You need to play with translucency of the material and strength of the light. Also, add some glow to it. I did it with mentals Glare shader, it can be done in post. The result and the scene: https://app.box.com/s/zpcmznwzd206b6v48ta9 http://i.imgur.com/vBgwAca.jpg
  14. Probably, i to googled "camera strap" But i think it would be better to model it, my photoshop is just "proof of concept". It looks strange and to small, and, well - wrong
