2. Studio/Institution: OCT.studio Genre: Other Software: 3ds Max, SketchUp, Vray 2.0, Photoshop Website: http://www.octstudio.co.uk Description: Motormorphosis is a process that recycles unused cars in the UK into dwellings through a revival of traditional apprenticeships and community lead manufacturing. The Motormorphosis process involves the transportation of vehicles to the FACTORY where they are deconstructed and reformed into simplistic sheet materials, ready to be constructed into new forms. Along with the scrapped cars come new workers, primarily people who are unable to afford rising costs of homes within major cities. Workers live and work within the factory learning the craft of reforming cars, workers works towards for filling there time at the factory and completing there apprenticeship, culminating in the worker building and owning there own dwelling. Once there time is completed at the factory the worker graduates with new skills and a new dwelling that will then be transported to a community TOWER within the city.

HDRI Help!!!

Hi, Im new to Vray and have just started to experiment with it. I'm working on a project to help me learn but i'm already stuck after a short while! Using 3dmax 2010 vray 1.5. Ive made a winter scene i made using Snow flow, Using one of peter guthrie's HDRI maps, iv'e followed tutorials and can get the HDRI to work from scratch, but when i use it in the scene (previously made) all i get is a dark scene. Im using the HDRI set-up in a Vray Dome light, Vray physical camera, most of the settings are followed from peters tutorial. I have tried changing the exposure on the camera, altering the HDRI output, and altered the vray light multiplier? The only changes I've made to the render set-up is the Vray colour mapping? I keep getting the error msg: material returned over bright or invalid colour? The hut in the scene had some mental ray materials but have gotten rid of most of them? could that be the issue? Ive set up blank scenes with just with a tea pot and in and the HDRI work fine but as soon as i import a model, tree ect the scene goes dark? Can any one help?
14. Really nice renders! Could you explane the diffrent passes you have done to make up the images shown above? I can see the AO pass but what are the darker images? Thanks
15. In my opinion i would say work on the animation side of things, I'm a young Architect and Arch Viz in the UK, Arch Viz is becoming a more and more standard part of the architects education these days. Like my self i use Viz as a way of helping to earn some money whilst at school, most of us who are graduating are being taken on by practices because we are able to produce in house visualization as well as being able to do other tasks in the office ect. Animation could open new areas of work and also expand your skill set?
