  1. I used a photometric spot light in max. I have never used an ies light but I will research it to see how it works. This was my first time really using bump maps I am trying to get better with texturing. Thanks
  2. I like the layout of the scene. The lights over the picture on the wall adds to the mood. What time of the day were you aiming for?
  3. Studio/Institution: Personal Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3D Studio Max Website: http://3dworkz.blogspot.com Description: I was practicing with the wall lights trying to get them to falloff better. I wanted the skylight to be the main source of light but also have the wall lights cast illumination. Any feedback will be great. Any tips/ideas on how to get my wall lights to look more realistic will be helpful. Also if someone can explain why my floor has those white specs, will explain a lot because I don't understand why that happens. Thanks
  4. If you use a muti sub material it will let you add different materials to parts of the sphere. Also add a uvw map afterwards
  5. How should you go about making a plastic material that goes on a bottle. I added a raytrace material and made it 2 sided made the specular level high and glossiness to about 80 but it only makes the bottle gray
  6. How will I get the feet for the bottom of the bottle? Also do I have to set the model up for real world scale before I model or is there a way to change it after I have modeled? Because I have modeled something that I should have been a specific height and width and was wondering if it is possible to change it now without having to start over.
  7. Hello I will like to know if anyone knows of any tuts or any helpful info on how to model the bottom of a 2 liter bottle. I usually just use poly modeling but I was wondering if it will be best to do this with splines or nurbs? Thanks:)
  8. thanks for the file :). Do you know of any good tuts for polygon smoothing groups? I see you have used it on your model and i'm curious about it.

  9. Thanks Aubrey but how did you get those areas in the picture for the outline of the switch? Did you extrude in a certain amount of times? In your picture I pointed out exactly what i'm referring to
  10. @ luthias42 no I didn't add a smooth mod because I used polygon smoothing groups and the verts are on the same plane. @ datacrasher thanks I forgot about the shape merge option, that works best Thanks guys:)
  11. I Will like to know if anyone can help me with why these creases are coming up. I have all polys and its aligned well. I was trying to outline the button so I did an extrusion inside and then I pulled it out. Maybe I went about it the wrong way I just wanted to show an outline of the button. I hope that makes sense. The light switch is an example of what I was going for with this button. I think that's why creases are showing. If you have any ideas that may help, I will greatly appreciate your time Thanks
  12. Thanks a lot a appreciate it . @ VelvetElvis how do I get the wireframe version in 3dsmax? I don't know how to exactly go about this.
