Hello CG. I'm having some problems with volume light in vray .. As you can see, it is black colored... And it also casts shadow, which is not normal for a light... In the photo you can see the black light. What could be the problem? I managed to achieve better results if I place vray environment fog and insert a target directional light as light node... But if I don't need any fog in my scene, I have to use volume light instead. What is the cause of black volume light ?

Thank you for the answer. However, i didn't quite understood what do you mean by "multi sub material" ... is this an option somewhere? I can see it worked by selecting the polygons and in materials editor clicked on "apply material to selection" something like that under the window with6 spheres.. I would like to know your way, too

Hi.. Is it possible to separate the objects's polygons for assigning to different textures? Example: I have a cube (editable poly), and would like to split it in 2 because i want 2 different textures on it. How can I do this? Thx

ok thanks..the sensitivity problem is solved... what about this problem about cutting the object when i zoom in? does this happen to you?

hi guys.. I have actually two problems: 1) is there a way to decrease the mouse wheel sensitivity when zooming? it just zooms to much at a little scroll up. 2) As you can see in this picture, the object is cutted after i zoomed either I zoom by the wheel or by the small icon in the bottom right, it happens ( this happens only in perspective view) can someone help me, please? Hi.. Does anyone know how to erase an element from an imported dwg? This is what i made in other software (revit) and after I imported the model, as you can see I have no delete option nor "del" button works, luckily I can resize it so tiny that it almost becomes invisible but I would like to know how to delete, also. I admit that i am beginner in 3d max Edit: PROBLEM SOLVED - i just restarted 3dmax problem number 2: Did this ever happened to you ?I have a model made in Revit and the objects (walls) placed on a mass simply went in the center of the mass, after exporting to .3ds format. The problem is gone if I place a curtain wall system instead of walls. Anyone can help? Thank you

Hi... People I am looking for days to find out a way to export from autodesk revit to Archicad but can't find it ! ! I tried to export via .ifc format but you see, it does not export the objects made with mass, only walls, slabs, things like that. I also tried to do the same thing with .dwf format but still no luck I am interested in exporting the complex shaped walls, made with mass function. I am surprised to see that Archicad can save and open 3ds, and Revit which is made by the ones who made 3dstudio, can't save .3ds , geeez. I won't like to install 3ds max for additional conversions because it is huge (4gb). Please does someone know how to do this? Or if you know a smaller convertor from .rvt to .3ds or .pln ? thank you
