  1. I don´t know what gives you problems (share some wireframes of your current modeling) but most likely it is the corners. You can try to follow something along those lines.
  2. Thanks for sharing! I think most of the HDRIs are not very useful for the typical archviz projects, when it is easiest to use only the sky with nothing on horizon. It is something to think about if that´s your target audience.
  3. This is a very viable business model and I know some in my country are doing this quite successfully. Although I think it is much harder to manage than it seems and definitely not as much fun as 3D itself. A handful of 3D companies worldwide has contacted us, too, for this, to be our managers. We have been too expensive so far. But wouldn´t this be a nice circle around the globe- Vietnamese highrise hires US company->they hire us->we hire a Vietnamese company! Aren´t most of the products designed-produced-sold this way, anyway?
  4. Seems like a job for a Railclone plugin, but there's definitely a learning curve.
  5. Yep, this might help. Grass patch sizes are clearly not the problem as "No matter what "Boundary Checking" i choose, (Point, Size, Edge) it always looks" same, which it definitely shouldn´t. But I think occasional gaps between patches (soil can´t be green ofc) and random areas with overlapping patches add to the realism. I´ve tried making less dense patches which are meant to be scattered with a lot of overlapping- works fine, too. The only time when I have to be mindful of grass patch sizes is when there's a HUGE area to be filled. Hmm, I can´t figure out if I offended anybody somehow.
  6. No. ForestPack has an Edge Boundary feature for a reason. For whatever reason, this feature doesn´t work for Malek. If nothing helps I would contact FP team (assuming he uses a legal version of course) to make it work, not going back to ancient workarounds.
  7. Edge mode needs Forest Edge map in a material opacity slot - https://docs.itoosoft.com/forestpack/forest-edge-map
  8. I agree. It does make me sad to see images being ruined by trees the industry uses. Do you have any images where you used Grove3D trees? Am I blind or is there really so few examples out there? Haven´t seen anybody using it. I guess everybody are scared off seeing its in Blender?
  9. I don´t know if I miss something, but I think lightmix can do all those things you mentioned. Lights in a scene, hit render and start tweaking instantly. No need to wait for finals. You toggle your lights, change light intensity, change colour even. Settings are visible.
  10. You should try Corona lightmix. If vray doesn´t have this feature yet, I´m sure they will add it soon. It´s a great feature. Doing this manually and with PS takes way too much time.
  11. I don't have MT last pack, but everything I have from MT and VP is not that great out of the box. Shaders are not the best and models are alright, but not excellent. Then again, I haven´t found any plants collection excellent. Maxtree and Vizpark are very good to use with Growfx. It´s very easy to take something from MT or VP and modify them to something completely new. But modelling something very good takes a huge amount of time, so it´s not easy to take a tree from MT and make something a lot better out of it. Grove3D seems quite good. I haven´t tried it, though.
  12. Remember, the other option was to get investment from some venture capital funds and their only goal would have been milking us. I like that the Chaos Group invests not only their money but also their expertise and experience. I already enjoy Vray DMC in Corona. Both teams are led by very passionate developers. Time will tell, but I feel optimistic. And what to make of this? Vlado said on Corona forum: "I don't think that will be the case. Corona's code and architecture is quite modern and will carry it forward for a long time. Maybe it will be around, but the truth is that V-Ray is getting old. I don't know if you've seen Cars 3, it's a very nice movie and somewhat relevant to the discussion :)" And someone else commented:"Google says "At its root, Cars 3 is a story about getting old and figuring out how to accept that you can’t stay on top forever.""
  13. Roughly speaking, it is: 8h-sleep 8h-work 8h-quite a bit of time to do whatever personal stuff. Some may use 5h of it to work on a personal 3d project. Some play music and some spend all this time with their family. On weekends it´s 8h sleep and 16h for personal time. I always have a personal project in works. A lot of projects have ended up in graveyard folder. But in recent years I haven´t created any half-done projects. I have been taking on projects in more manageable scale and changed my mindset a bit- if I find myself changing something back and forth trying to improve some detail, I call it done and move on. It has actually helped that I don´t have so much time as before. I can´t start a personal project in a second I have an inspirational moment. I´m thinking it through if I really want to do this, how long would it take and so on. Otherwise, I still would have a new unfinished project every week. This way I manage to take on and finish maybe 1-3 projects a year. It´s hard to say exactly how much or if at all it has helped financially, but it has been fun and that´s it.
  14. I dont know if understood your problem correctly (flower overlapping with leaves). You have in distributor range parameters start value 70%, but end value should be lower than 100%. So it may have to be leaves 0% to 70%, flowers 70% to 90% and another leaves paths 90% to 100%.
