  1. Hi Wolf It really looks nice. A suggestion for you is to look at what the specific user benefit of your tool is. LOD is nice if it enables you to create larger scenes (better quality), but try make something automatic. I think you need to consider the points that sets you apart, as there are a ton of real-time tools right now. /Claus
  2. Its a HDRI, so I just did a little balancing of the light ;-) Made the room inside a little darker, but its not burned any more.
  3. Just a little update from another scene. The exterior light is slowly getting better. Bet you guys could do magic with a little photoshop work.
  4. Hi Vizfx You are on an enormous task. Thought I'd give my 2 cents. In addition to the ones you have mentioned I have these on my list: TurnTool Viewpoint Anark N.grain Mindavenue Walkinside Navisworks Micronet O2C Octaga VB2S MyVR Discovery viewer - and thats just the top of the list. There are literally hundreds of engines out there, with most of them requirering quite good programming skills. What you need to be aware of is that a lot of the technologies will not handle enough geometry and texture (light-info) for it to be usefull in archviz or it will be so difficult to set up for each scene that it simply doesn't make sense to use for real work. /Claus
  5. I guess Marek has a really valid point about knowing the audience. For the same reason we almost always send a link (VR) to the customer first and then follow it up with phone call a few seconds later. That way we are sure to be able to guide the installation of the viewer if it is needed. There is also the issue of how different system setups handle the Java program. This has really been a pain in the ***. /Claus
  6. Hi Guys I just wanted to show you a little preview of what we are developing on. It's still very early days, and you are the first ones not involved directly to get sneak. We have implemented basic geometry and materials are only supported in a very limited way / faked. It's either glass or something else :-) Also the light is only a GI, or omnis if it's inside. The samples hasn't been set up especially for the render. It's just the samples we have laying around. a.jpg was originally rendered a HDR image in 2500x1875. Rendertime: about 2.5 hours jpg.jpg is also originally a HDR image, but only 800x600, but it was only allowed to run for about 10 minutes both on a laptop with a Centrino 2,0, and 1GB ram. looking for to showing more samples... /Claus
  7. We've used both VR and spherical maps. VR (TurnTool): Keflar 360 images (java-player): Keflar Java (low quality) The java viewer is some custom development we purchased. I think it is based on something called PTViewer. Its a jungle with lots of solutions :/ I think you will end up doing a little reseach no matter what. /Claus
  8. TNT = a file exported from the TurnTool plug-in.
  9. Hi Jonathan It's quite fun. Is it a project for a museum or ? How long did it take (modeling and programming)? If you borrow me the max file I'll give you a TNT version back in return. Claus
  10. Hi We have used it in several smaller website projects. For the larger 3D projects and the standard ones (TurnTool archviz) we have a custom build system. It has been alright for the purpose (smaller website projects), and is using ideas from for the next iteration of the custom system /Claus
  11. Studio/Institution: CubiCasa Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3DS, VRAY, TurnTool Website: http://www.cubicasa.com Description: Made on the basis of this interactive model: http://www.boligprojekt.dk/2005/index.html?agent=m2&name=cebra_plushuset
  12. Studio/Institution: CubiCasa Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3DS, VRAY, TurnTool Website: http://www.cubicasa.com Description: Still made on the basis of this interactive model:http://www.boligprojekt.dk/2005/index.html?agent=keops&name=langager_3b
  13. Hi Brian Do you expect rendered quality in your interactive model? As I hear it you are looking for a solution with a photerealistic look. That is not posible unless you have a very hardcore games programmer and a high-end computer. My suggestion would be to use something like the TurnTool plugin (http://www.turntool.com) or maybe RTRE. My experience is with TurnTool and here you just select the objects that you want to be collidable, place a sphere make it physical and link a camera to it. Then click export and view. The other possibility is the spherical maps and something like panoviewer, but it isn't really a walkthrough ;-) /Claus
  14. Hi We've had several modellers migrate from the gaming area to arch viz for the stability of things. But then again 90% of our work is interactive real-time scenes, so they are using a lot skills and tricks they've picked up in the gaming area. /Claus
  15. Hi It was doors that opened (animation being played) on a zone-enter functionality (proximity). I think it is very much up to the target audience, if such functionality should be implemented. The Swedish CubiCasa franchisee did sliding doors in this scene, which is an apartment for the "young and hip" in a harbour area: http://www.cubicasa.se/2005/index.html?agent=bostadsinvent&name=laxen It also supports changing of colors etc. Regards Claus
