  1. Ok John, I think I'll just do that, thanks. I'll share it here once I figure it out.
  2. Hi! My client wants to buy a (3ds Max + Vray) scene of a family house with some outside grass/simple garden space to use to showcase their products. So the job will be putting a 3d model of their trampoline or inflatable swimming pool on the grass in the house/garden scene, picking a view and rendering it for their website where they sell their sports/garden etc. products. Here are some examples of trampoline/pool exterior shots, not perfect ones but you get the idea. My client will be picking the right house/exterior scene, I just need to give them something to choose from that can be used commercially like I described. We are in Europe, EU if it matters. So I have 2 questiios, or things I'm wondering about: 1. Can I use Evermotion's Archexteriors for this? From their licensing page I think yes, but I'm not experienced in this stuff so just wanted to make sure, I'll quote the licensing and put a link to the original at the end. 2. I know about Turbosquid, but are there perhaps other better sites, maybe less known/more specialised in such exterior scenes, that you would recommend? Here's Evermotion license page: https://evermotion.org/main/license Evermotion s.c. grants a limited license to use Evermotion Products for any purpose, including commercial use and redistribution, excluding following restrictions: 1. You can not resell or copy Evermotion Products (used in your project) for a third-party, which do not have its own license for Evermotion Products. 2. You can use Evermotion Products as a part of a game if the products are in proprietary format and displayed inside the game during play. In this case, you have to add in the producer's section information that "models come from Evermotion" 3. You can sell/resell rendered (moving or still) images, as a part of a movie advertisement, animation etc. 4. You can publish your renders in a book, on a poster, t-shirt or any other item. 5. You have a right to use your renders in any way - charge a fee for them, modify them. 6. You are NOT allowed to use the renders in connection with the sale, resale or other commercial reproduction or distribution of images of the single models (archmodels) ----------- 6. Is kinda starange to me, I imagine it means I cannot buy archmodels set, and than sell renders of a single model, but I'm not sure. I'll appreciate any help/confirmation. Cheers!
  3. Now thats something new! I'm importing fbx into Max, it's an update of a scene I was working on for some time. As I said, the dialog of conflicting names never showd up to let me choose using new or scene materials, and most of materials are conflicted as it's update of same project. So now I have duplicate material names existing at the same time, and in those cases (many cases) both materials are applied (see two attached jpg's). I didn't know it is even possible in Max, since when I tried applying material with same name Max allways had something to say about it and never agreed. Now when it brings me many standard materials when I already changed those into vray materials its fine! Anyone experienced something like that before? I'm using 3ds Max 2012. I'll gretly appreaciate any help/input, thanks.
  4. Hi, I have a problem - I need to export this, and soon more similar models to various formats to make those models aviable for other software. With this particular model, .3ds and .obj export work fine (at least when I`m testing it, importing back to 3ds Max) but when I import the .dwg back into Max, parts of geometry are missing, and there are holes. software: 3ds Max 2012 I`v attached images, 1 = model in max before exporting to DWG 2=model imported from (just created) dwg into Max Some side polygons and most of bottom ones are missing! I tried changing topology of bottom part, removing some edges and cutting differently, but it`s a lot of edges so I only done it to some extend, but the problem stayed similar. Perhaps someone got similar experiences, or can give me some advice, or direct me to some solutions.. I`ll be grateful. Tom
