Thanks for your answer. Actually i'm also afraid of heatsinks that could get in touch with memory banks, even if referring to Asus x99-a user manual, memories seem to be installed far from CPU socket so heatsinks should stay away.

What do you think about cooling solution? Is it worth to water cool the CPU or air cooling will be enough if i don't mind to overclock CPU? One point i can add is for spacing purposes because of "big thing" heatsinks.

Hi all. I'm planning to upgrade an i7 920 ws to i7 5820k. This is the configuration that i've choosed: CPU INTEL Desktop Core i7 5820K Mod 2011 ASUS X99-A ATX/X99 DDR4 16GB PC 2400 CL15 G.Skill Scythe Mugen 4 The only part that makes me hesitant is the RAM modules. I've recently read about compatibility issues between new DDR4 RAMs and Motherboard 2011-v3. I won't do overclocking. Thanks in advance for any help. Raf

Did you updated to latest SP4 perhaps? This SP have been deferred few days ago because of canvas viewport crash if you try to work on viewport after a render. Hope this helps.
