  2. I have some 3d files that require me to export the objects from MAX to CAD, then import back all these into MAX. Does this process changed the ojbect's property in MAX?
  3. Can I have two mask maps on one material. I can always copy two objects in the same location then assign a mask file to each object. But this doesn't look a good way to do it. Any smart suggestions?
  4. What is the right procedure to do save the irradiance map and reuse it next time? I heard this will will save a lot of time, how good is it? Thanks.
  5. I guess you would always model a solid for the Glass object then? The optionA won't give me the correct rendering effects for the glass. Option b won't reduce the rendering time, I suppose? It seems MentalRay don't have such problems?
  6. In autocad, to save the memory, I modeled a face for a glass. Then I applied a glass mat.( with ref. set to light grey) to it in MAX. Now here comes the trouble. Some glasses' normal seems being changed. I couldn't see the glass mat. anymore. If I model in solid, problem dismissed. I wonder if it is the video card driver cause this issue?
  7. It looks mapping in diffuse map slot is what I want. I can see the edge. But not if I do it in bump slot.
  8. Are u sure? I tried your methods,it works. But I can use it in Diffuse map too. What is the differnce?
  9. HI, all: I have some q regarding this Vray edge material. Do I apply it to my diffuse map slot? In the mean time, can I assign an map to the opacity map slot? I am doing some simple tests to check all this issues but so far didn't get what I need. Should you have suggestions, please share with me. Thanks
  10. HI, I am thinking of doing an animation rendering tomorrow for a highrise building. Never did an animation in VRay before. I wonder if anyone could share me with any thing I should be aware of? Like file size, materials? Thanks,
  11. Can anyone tell me if I can use standard camera to create the depth of filed effects for a rendering? I am rendering a scene with the camera 60 meters high above the ground. So there is alot of far side ground could be rendered. I want them to be faded away. Is the depth of field the right way to achive what I want? Thanks,
