  1. Hi Taylor! Nice work. A couple of things I would say: The road surface looks pretty shiny. Is it raining? The models of the cars look pretty old and similar. The strong blue/ green color on the call near the entrance. Does it have to be like this? I'm not sure if this is the best colour here. I like the camera angle and the general composition.
  2. Hi Sean, Looks good! Some things: The dark parts look really dark There is not much colour difference between the bushes in the foreground and the grass. Try to differentiate a bit. A bit more cariation in the grass would be nice I think. The bushes in the foreground don't seem to be very realistic.
  3. It looks good. Maybe it's a bit dark? No? I would add some highlights maybe.
  4. Ok, thanks Dimitris! I will look into those other posts for these subjects. So, just to be sure: I don't have to install anything or update my BIOS after the replacement? But I have to buy thermal paste, right?
  5. Hello Dimitris, Thanks for your answer! The reason I want to replace the processor is for rendering with Vray. For interiors it has become too much of a pain. You say an i7 3770 will give a 25-30% boost in rendering. I think that's worth it for me. Or would it be smarter to build a dedicated render node instead, like you describe on your website?
  6. Hello, This is my system: Operating System Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.40GHz Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology RAM 16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz (11-11-11-28) Motherboard Gigabyte Z77X-D3H (revision 1.0) LGA1155 socket BIOS version F8 (http://www.gigabyte.co.nl/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4144#ov) Graphics DELL U2412M (1920x1200@59Hz) DELL U2412M (1920x1200@59Hz) 2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (Gigabyte) Storage 238GB SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series (SSD) 1863GB Seagate ST2000DM001-9YN164 (SATA) What would be the best replacement for my current CPU? Could I install a more recent CPU like the i7 4770K for example? The socket is the same, but I can't find it on this list: http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=4153 But is this list updated? I'm not really interested in overclocking since I find this too complicated.
  7. That makes sense Scott. But I don't understand why 3ds Max doesn't give you the choice.. It is my preferred way of working right now.
  8. I'm really surprised that this isn't a standard option when you merge a file into your scene. I mean, when you import a Sketchup file for example, the textures are automaticaly placed in your images folder, but if you import a .max file it doesn't do that... That doesn't make sense, does it?
  9. Hello, The problem I have is as follows: When I merge a .max file into my scene, I always manually copy the images that go with this file into my working project folder under sceneassets/images/ Do any of you know a way to let 3ds Max automaticaly copy the images of a merged file into my project folder? Thanks in advance! Jonas
  10. I understand what you are saying. :-) This is the dilemma I am in: - or I tell them and I lose a lot of time (emailing back and forth and so on). Maybe I could charge something extra but I will probably lose more time then the extra amount of money I will charge. (delays) - or I do a little "freestyle" like you say :-) and I hope they don't notice afterwards. It's not my job checking the plans on mistakes anyway. That should be the architects job. I think I will be more specific in my terms & conditions the next time. :-) Multiple mistakes/ changes on the plans = extra cost
  11. Hello, I'm working on a project but the architectural plans contain multiple small mistakes. Some things: walls, balconies, ... don't match in the different views (front, left, top, etc.) The plans are professional plans but it all seems to be a bit messy. In my contract I stated that if the plans that were given to me are not the right plans, I will charge for the extra effort. I haven't contacted the client yet. I could try to find "solutions" for the mistakes and hope they don't bother or I could contact my client and confront them and maybe charge something extra for the time I lose. What would you do? Thanks in advance, Jonas
  12. Thanks for your answer. Glassdoor is an interesting website, but it talks more about companies and their employees itself, not about the relationships between those companies. I'm sure that careful listening to your clients can teach you a lot, but I was more hoping for some kind of statistic material...
