  1. Yes, I've heard some similar critics about leap motion precision but it seems the SDK 2 beta version solves these (how ?) and the API gives much more controls on the hand bones. I got to find some time to experience this. Sure thing is it's much more game and archviz compatible than "pro production" compatible. ... BTW, I'm quite curious to know how your coworker did this in REVIT...
  2. Check this video, guys. My mind is blowing imagining what could be done in archviz and 3D configurators with those 2 toys Someone else feels the same ? Nicolas
  3. Hi, Matthew gave you good advices. I would add that you may also be careful about number of materials especially if you aim iPad2 as well. See the Unity documentation about memory usage optimizations and drawcall optimization. You may also use the iTween library. It's really helpful. If you have more questions, feel free to ask. N
  4. Hi all, I am working on a little demo these days. It still contains some glitches but I had fun with some features (occlusion culling, sunshaft, DOF, 3D sounds settings,...). You'll find the link below. Would be nice of you if you could give me some feedback about it. Thanks http://www.devoxyz.com/demos/coffee3d/coffee3d.html
  5. Hello all I own a small RT3D company and I now work with architects. I used to work in the video game industry. Working on architecture realtime 3D presentation is quite exciting for me but I still wonder how I can improve my production process. For now I get the models from the architects from archicad, autocad or 3DSMAX. Those models are filled with useless additionnal polygons that kill performance and correct rendering in Unity. (BTW thank you to the guys who added xview in 3DSMAX). For now I have worked with 3D artists that optimize these models under my supervision. This step is horribly long and kills productivity. Do you guys would have recommandations for a nice and smooth production process that would kind of lower the 3D models optimizations hurdle. Recommended formats (sketchup ?) and/or practices ? I am currently creating an architecture viz for iPad and as you can imagine it requires a lot of optimization. Any hint about a smooth production process ? Thank you.
  6. Hi all I confirm that Rhino is very good for processing .IGS file before using them in 3DS Max. I had to do this for a terrain to be integrated in Virtools. Rhino is a great software.
  7. HI, If you want technical details about Virtools Dev see http://www.virtools.com/solutions/products/virtools_dev_features.asp
  8. I do not have screenshot yet, since it is not decent enough I am still struggling ( :- ) ) with the quality at first I was using complete maps but this does not sound to be a good solution, I'll use lightmaps and multitexturing. I use tga, but to put it onlineI'll use png, as you said. I'll show you as soon as I can thx for the help
  9. hi It is a chance that I was on my chair watching your work, If I was standing up, I would have fallen. congratulations. you said thatyou did not get paid for this, I wish I could see the works on which you are paid :-) hey guys, no one to challenge this guy ? :-) ok, ok, I come back to my pool
  10. Hi all, I definitly love the Oluv work. I am struggling on a pool scene and I hope it will be decent one day to show it to you. I wish more guys would show ther work here :-)
  11. thank you for reply, I'll try this. But I am not still satisfied with the quality of the rendering : the rendering loks great in Max but the texture quality is not good looking. I'll keep trying, if you have further recommendation, feel free :-)
  12. I suppose that the author will answer you himself but I think that the main thing you definitly know for that kind of rendering oin real time is enough video card RAM. I am myself trying to improve real time rendering for achitects but I am only at the start of my experiences. I would like to take advantage of the great features recent video cards offer. As soon as I have something nice, I'll show you (I hope : -) )
  13. hi guys, I was just wondering how I could see new post in the forum since my last visit. this is a very usefull feature I use on other forums but I can ot find it here (perhaps I am too tired to see it :-) ) If someone could give me a hint, it would be great.
  14. Hi Pablo, This realtime scene loks great and I suppose you are quite happy with it. I am very interested in this kind of applications. I see that you are from argentina, and I wonder how is the realtime market in this part of the world. Can you give me a few indications and describe this market ? thx
  15. I use 3DSMAX and Virtools. I use render to texture technic to bring the 3DSMAX rendering in realtime. Do you have any recommendations in max to make this process faster, more efficient, or with better results ?
