  1. Thank you watir, i am having a look right now!
  2. You could also try a composite map with 2 layers : falloff with two shades of blue as 1st layer and on top of that Vray dirt (in multiply mode).
  3. Hello everyone, I need to achieve the nylon material from the attached image. After I day of tests i find it hard to get a good result. I have attached my last test. The material I use has a custom bump map and a custom falloff in diffuse. I have attached it as well. Any advice anyone? Thank you!
  4. Hi, I have a rendering project for a wine bottle fridge and i am encountering some problems with the glass refraction of the glass pannels in front of the bottles. I have attached two images to illustrate this. In the first one i rendered only the bottles and in the second one i have added the glass pannels in front of them (i took out the rest of the geometry for the sake of this test). - when i add the glass pannels in front of the botlles the reflections on the wine bottles seems to increase a lot and looks kind of crazy. I have tried changing the glass refract. subdiv between 8-32 the ior between 1.01-1.8 but nothing seems to work. I have also tried low and high settings for vray but that didn't seem to have any effect aswel. If you have any idea how to solve this please comment. Thanks!
  5. I think i have the same problem, the light blotches appear only in rawgi element. I tried pumping up the subdivs of the lights to 64-90 but it didn't work. The problem appears only when i turn on the vray dome with an hdri, or when i put the hdri in the environement map. Any ideas on how to solve this ? Thanks!
  6. This is a 100% crop of the final result. It still has some minor bugs but the result is acceptable, given this technique saves me a loot of time.
  7. Thanks guys for your replies. The problem was i needed the edges of the letters to be smooth so i would have to do a lot of poly submodeling to achieve this effect with turbosmooth. I managed to make vray displament work by loading the displacement map with a vraybmpfilter instead of normal bitmap. I also blurred the displacement map and now the results look great.
  8. Hi, I just started a new rendering project for a client and i am trying to use vray displacement to create some text geometry as i have to render a lot of scenes with just some text changes from one scene to another. The problem is i need to provide the renders in 3000x3000 resolution and i can't get the edges of the diplaced geometry to look smooth. I tried using displacement maps with resolution from 3000x3000 to 6000x6000 and still no smooth result. I also tried maps with blur and no blur but still the result aren't what i need. Anyone has any idea on what am i doing wrong here ? Thanks
  9. This is the result that i got with the increased settings for ir and lc.The light leaks have disappeared but other gi problems have occurred and the result is still inacceptable. I will try to render with brute force and hope for better results
  10. I am working on dusk scene for a house and i am getting this light leaks problems(see the image).I am using target spot lights to light the scene. When i render only the region with the problem the light leak disappears. Thank you!
  11. Hy everyone! Thank you all for your tips and suggestions. Sadly i abandoned the day scene for the moment, will do a remake in the future though. Instead i made this dusk scene which was much more fun to do and i am happy with the result. Hope you like it, and short render times to you all !
  12. Thank you for the tips Bradley, i will post a remake of the scene in the following days.
  13. Studio/Institution: Myself Genre: Commercial Exterior Software: 3dsmax vray photosho[ Description: Hy as the title says this is my first serious rendering project. I spent a lot of time with this project and in the end i was quite happy with the raw render from max. The problem is the post production. I feel like i am missing something and the overall aspect of the image is still not what i expected. Please tell me if u have any suggestions or tips that i can use in the post production to increase the realism of the image . I also uploaded the raw render form max. Thank you very much for your help and i wish you all a short rendering time !
