  1. Thanks William and Corey! I've tried your idea william and doing an extra weld but with not major changes. I even pumped the numbers up quite high with slight improvement. I havent tried your solution yet Corey but it I will try it out this very moment and post an update once it's done. It's something that I havent put into consideration and it sounds like it could work! Cheers for the help!
  2. Hi, I'm doing and following a tutorial created by Ben Tate on CGtuts. I can really recommend his other tutorials if you're green in 3Ds max like me. I am currently working on "The Lantern" and have come to the video part 3 where he goes from having created a pattern from splines, tossed in a shell modifier and made it into edi poly and then chamfering all edges outer. Here comes my problem. Instead of all the edges get a nice curve of 3cm, some polygons turns in the wrong direction. It is obviously I who are doing something seriously wrong because he does the same thing in the video.I have created it from scratch twice and getting stuck at the same step. I enclose two screenprints from 3ds max. One before I put on the chamfer and a post and you will see for themselves how it will be? Forgive me for using the wrong terms, have not been using 3Ds max for more than half a year. Grateful for any help! // Christoffer Dalkarls http://www.dalkarls.com
  3. Hi, this is my first post here on this forum and I must start by saying that I am not an expert once it comes to 3D studio max. I picked it up during a class in my photography school and I thought why not give it a try? So I've been going thru some tutorials regarding modelling and rendering interior. I work with 3Ds max 2010 x64 with V-ray adv 2.20.02. My problem. I'm currently trying to recreate this tutorial and everyting has gone nice and easy untill I was setting up my Vraylight boxes infront of the windows. They are casting light in the viewport but wont show up in the render. I've also added a VraySun which works fine. Thats what truobles me. Anyone knows what might cause it and have a fix for it? I realy appreciate any help I can get since my knowledge is very limited. The tutorial I was talking about. Stuck at step 55. http://www.2d3dtutorials.com/3d-studio-max/how-to-model-living-room-furniture-with-3ds-max/4/ I can upload a render with the VrayLights and you will see how it turns out. It's completly black. I will also link the 3dsmax file if anyone could look into it maybe? 3Ds Max File: http://www.4shared.com/file/S5v5ihDz/Kids_room_extended_Vad_blir_de.html /Christoffer www.dalkarls.com
