Not if the people who work in the studio look like models themselves and you have a studio which can turn into a setup https://www.mir.no/info/tour-the-studio/ XD Most of the images by MIR have there team posing in some way or the other. Ofcourse there are commissioned images done, but if you have the resources, use it!
  2. I had a look, and the components you mentioned are going up to 3000€ over here. The setup which I have posted, is around 2200€.
  3. Thanks a lot nikolaos! I will have a look into it, and the prices for these, here in CZ. I need to buy it locally to get the components without VAT on the companies tax ID. I already have the 1950x on my studio workstation, and i wanted to get a system which would let me add on another graphic card within a year or two. But i will check if your configuration is for the same price here, and maybe it would be benefitial! Cheers again
  4. Hi guys, So finally its time for me to upgrade and get a decent workstation. Here is the configuration i am looking at. Main functions would be 3dsmax - modelling(not too much as our clients send most of the 3d), texturing, lighting, VRAY, PS I am going to invest some time to learn cinema4d, corona, zbrush and a few other programs. This will be my personal workstation and not for the commercial work.   5. Exactly. If you save objects from a bigger / main scene, max usually stores the whole material browser/editor information along with all the settings if you use any backgrounds/images/etc. So, What James said works well.
  6. If you are using distributed rendering, the file will always try to save once before the render begins. Try to empty you autobak folder. The error occurs quite often with low disk space. You can always save the file before you press render as incremental save so you dont need to do the work again all the time?
  7. Not exactly, I want some function to select all the distributed objects within the forest object. Multiscatter gave this option as 'select all dependencies'. Something on those lines

  9. Hello guys, we recently moved from multiscatter to forestpack in our studio. As our scenes are quite big in scale, we usually have a lot of different types of scatter in one scene. With multiscatter there used to be an option which would let you select all the root distributed objects under one scatter to save as a library. We cant seem to find any such asset collection option under forestpack. Can someone throw some light on this? Would be highly helpfull! Thanks!!
  10. Customize >> Configure User Paths >> External files Here you can try adding the whole directly with textures or maps from the network/server on each system in the office. This could help.
  11. Quite new to ANIMA, and have a very perticular query. We have a large animation scene where we are using anima to populate people in motion. There are a lot of levels and blockades though, and the paths end abruptly in a lot of places in the scene. Is there any way of making the rigged people reverse on a path rather than just disappear? Or how are others going around such issues where the end of paths are visible in the animation sequence? Any help would be highly appreciated! Cheers
  12. I wouldnt bother as long as the files are not the ones you purchased. But when we are talking about the photos you have taken and made cutouts from these, I am not really sure if they are actually your property, unless you have a signed agreement with the person in that image to be used in commercial work. Maybe i am wrong, and its okay
  13. If there are no x-refs and a lot of proxies, try not to transfer all the data to the slaves, but instead map the server/main data drive on them with the same heirarchy? Also displaying all the proxies as box makes it a bit faster if thats of any help.
  14. We are usually facing problems when there are x-ref files connected to the main scene running on the workstation. The slaves just wont start the render. I have to always merge the x-refs to the scene just before i start the render. Or you might be missing some plugin which might be updated on the WS and not on all slaves? Recently had a problem with the new floor generator as well, as now its a stack modifier and not a script.
