    So.. Has this ever happened to anyone? What should I do to stop the computer shutting down/ overheating while rendering? Edit- while rendering the CPU reaches 70+ degrees Celsius ...then shutdowns after a while ...also usually the "normal" temperature when I'm not rendering is usually about 46 degrees Celsius ... Which could be a bit high .? Also I cleaned my fan and heat sink a little before and it did the same render without shutting down but now back to the same problem. Please see the attached picture which shows my computer specs briefly

    So when I place my drawing onto the layout book it works Fine, but if I chnage to a different layout or go draw some extra info then come Back to my layout page , the layout updates then the drawing Vanishes?.. Anyone know the problem??

    Ok, so i just wanted to know if you wanted to use a real life photo then add something in 3D, how do you give your object shadows on the ground plane of the image? would you need to place some sort of "invisible" plane to allow the shadow to cast? How can you achieve this in Vray.

    Is it possible to "bake" the Atree3D tree then export it to another scene without loang it's materials... Everytime I try to load a poly version of it, it comes inn black with no materials

    thanks, i tried what u said.. it kinda worked, see image 6..but now the blue comes onto the walls a bit :/

    if i use a normal plane and add a water material to it , the water looks nice and blue and crisp looking... if i modify the plane to have noise to make it look like its wavey the rendered pool water looks almost black?..happens always. Any ideas how to fix this? - using Vray and 3ds max. also for some weird reason i keep getting black all the time ...thanks for ur reply. and material used for this water....the second image is of the bump used.     yeah, thanks i used SR for one image before i started learning vray properly and it gave me ok results. I guess SR is good for beginners. But as I started learning Vray i realised maybe using vray is better..anyway i'm still learning.

    Hi guys, Just wondering if any of you have the solidrocks plugin and have used it before ? I have played around with it and it seems ok, producing good images quicker than if u were using normal vray plugin.. but i noticed the SR(Solidrocks) makes the image brighter, and there is less settings.. which gets me a little worried if i can't control certain things.. so what i'm trying to ask is, is have u used SR and would u use it over Vray, and how do u deal with settings, eg if u wanna change the image sampling , would u change that in the normal vray rollout then render using SR? thanks.
