  1. In terms of Blender you should ask these questions to a proper Blenderforum like Blenderartist or Blendernation...they have websites with forum and a Facebook page. There must be good C4D pages as well...
  2. C4D -C4D will get a node system -we use Laubwerk and Forester for Landscape (http://www.laubwerk.com/store/surfacespread/) (https://www.3dquakers.com/forester-for-cinema-4d/) Blender -I have used Blender for archviz as well, as u have said there are lots of tools and preset systems (pro lighting and grass essentials from Blenderguru, https://www.blendermarket.com/) -The thing that bothers me most about Blender is not the UI design (one can get used to it fast) but the constant change and optimization of the functions/physics etc. so sometimes tutorials wont work from one version to the next. -imho Blender works just fine for archiviz still images and most renderengines work with blender now as well (Vray, Thea, maxwell, octane...) -autodesk pricing scheme is a noghtmare ...so... for archiviz stills C4D/ Blender wil ldo just fine!
  3. so, why do you all still use Autodesk products? because architects use Revit? or because you prefer Max to Cinema?
  4. Another issue is the architecture itself...the building design of your 3 projects... your projects and the examples...these are 2 different ''design leagues'' ... I would pick a new project..one that represents contemporary architectural design (like your examples) and then you are going to have more fun and a better result
  5. '''Real Estate renders as you mentioned want something cheap and nasty -''' ----how can one sell Real Estate with cheap and nasty renderings? '' Becaause of the seriousness of the situation this is usually charged at a high rate as accuracy is paramount and mistakes can be legally held against you.''' ''VCAT Town planning .....and all the legal documents that go with it (meaning you need to give a written statement to a judge)''' ----Isn't that the job of an Architect/Urban Designer? Someone that knows the codes and building regulations? http://forums.cgarchitect.com/15652-getting-sued-because-your-rendering.html
  6. What price? My client said ''Free-lance..so it should be for free'' and when I read that people charge their clients 50 bucks per image, that is almost for free...
  7. '''they have claimed billable time of 80 hours and a total cost approaching £10k including VAT - just for the renders''' 80 minutes is more likely...including the bad design concept and lunch break. 10k is a proper price though...10k Vietnamese Dong.
  8. As Thomas and Roy said '''complexity, scale and special requirements'' I would be careful with that educating/value attitute. Clients know why they need these pictures. We hire freelanceers from time to time or give entire projects away, and if I hear a sob story about office costs or ''your project budget is high so we will charge you more''.. I show them the door. Its a free market system so you can charge what you want..and I can hire who I want. To me, a proper spreadsheet shows me that you work organized and your calculation is based on facts. And that spreadsheet contains all things including complexity, scale, requirements etc.
  9. Nice, i like it...here is what I would change: The shower-walls and the shower-ground have the same material like the rest of the bathroom? Where is the shower drainage, i would like to see a fluffy towel somewhere, the stool looks almost like an obstacle. The ceiling lamp is a little small...
  10. '''However in my country in order to accomplish so called "Social status" you need a proper Honours degree like B.Arch. As i have told you before i have completed diploma in architecture which is'nt equivalent to B.Arch. But i dont want to go through the 5 year Bachelor in architecture degree.''... Your 4 years degree is not a proper degree? You want to open your own company right? Experience matters. I would try to get an Intern place in an Archviz studio. 4 Years Architecture-education is enough. '''Thats why i was thinking about a ArchViz short course which would give me a certificate so that i can start my own firm in my country.''' You just need a paper or do you actually want to learn something? Both I guess huh? I would try Europe t. B.Arch degrees are 3 year degrees, and you can get a M.A. in 1 or 2 years. In some countries Bachelor and Master programs are for free (Sweden, Germany etc) . There is a programm called ''Architecture Mediamanagement (Master)'' You need a 4 years architecture course (diploma or bachelor) to join...
  11. The Autodesk stuff?...Showcase and Vred (but its more for product- an automotive design)
  12. ''''''Incidentally, I find it ironic that architects consistently demand such specific entourage in their renderings while nearly all of the coffee table books they publish are completely devoid of people. Why don't architectural photographers have to deal with this?'''''' Why is it ironic? Their coffee table books are for architects and architects do not want and do not need to see people..where as renderings are for the clients or your clients..developers, normal citizens, city employees that are in in jury, people that want to buy a house...they want and have to see people to understand a 3D image..to understand the scale of the image. '''Many of our upcoming rec centers are located in towns that have real life racial tension, so I understand where the client's request are coming from.''' well...in the end it is the demand or the circumstances of a society...Dont blame your clients. You all should discuss issues more with with clients...otherwise it is guesswork....and all this complaining and guessing leads to nowhere.
  13. ''''I HATE when clients ask for wider angles so they can see more in the view.''''....tough job...
  14. '''Imagine if you don't bend backward for the clients and he understand that it is $100 dollars. You make $100, some one in Indian family person make $100, some one in Ukraine Dude make $100. can you image how better we all would be??''''....It is what what we call the ''gas-station-principle''' ...but it doesnt work in the archviz-business...because no one would hire the Indian or Ukrainian guy...Clients in the U.S. would stick to the U.S. Archiviz-firms (why bother with firms abroad?), Ukrainian or Indian clients can not afford a $100 archiviz guy therefore they wont hire him.
