Hello Guys, Just quick update for the number of Free Hdr sky maps in 4096 x 2048px resolution we share. At the moment it is 160 psc and we are still updating new stuff to share. It's mainly because the main guideline of our third service, is to support young artists projects. Please give them a test or even use in commercial works. Any comments appreciated. If you like it you can always purchase full resolution version for very cheap. All hdri files have been tested in Maxwell Render and should give very good results in Vray, Octane and other rendering engines. Feel free to use it, but do not publish my files on your sites, or sell them etc. To download go to http://hdri-skies.com and add to cart whatever you need.

Thanks for reporting/ I just checked my pingdom account and there was no down today. Maybe you had more than 5 simultaneous downloads ? There is a limit max 5 downloads at the same time.

Hello Guys, I would like only share the news, that the sister site of hdrmaps.com - http://www.texturify.com has released much more free stuff to download lately. There are a lot of free Sky Backrounds, Spherical Environments and textures. I have mentioned about it before on the forum about few months ago, but at that time there weren't much of free stuff. Now you can download everything there without registration. All textures, sky backgrounds, spherical environments are royality free. Unfortunatelly textures are non-tilable yet, but soon the will be prepared. Plus HDRI panoramas will also be available for free download. Now over 1 hundred of 360 panoramas are available. They can be also used in software like After Effects, Element 3D, Cinema 4D, for environment background. You can blur spherical background in software like Lys by Knald.

I have some bricks textures too at my site, however you will have to make it tiled yourself if you have Photoshop or Bitmap2Material etc. It is very easy.

I just published 780 textures fore free (sorry no tiled yet, but I will make it soon). You do not need to register or login there, just click Download Free Texture button visible at texture's picture view to get 1500 x 1000 px image for free (private/commercial use allowed).

But you can't use Viz-people free hdris for commercial projects, anyway I did them for VP 2 years ago with my Samsung GX-20, now working on Ninon D800, and take more brackets with better lens + have more experience using hdris myself for rendering.

I don't know prices in your country but even if you buy in Poland you can fit it in 1500€ (maybe not $ but as I mentioned in Poland everything is expensive) Z9PE-D8 WS - 2CPU motherboard fox xeon CPU - 500€ 2 x Intel CM8062101038606 - Intel Socket 2011 Cpu 3.2Gh, 280€ x 2 = 560€ And rest is not important - RAM memory is very cheap, this MB have 8 slots so you can place there even 64Gb if needed. I wouldn't take care about GPU if you're going to render on CPU, get it later on. This is only my alternative view on this theme...

There is also plugin package called Banty's Toolkit for Picturenaut (sorry Mac funboys it works only on PC) which works great, it has nearly all functionalities of HDRShop and it's free! Have a look it is called Diffuse SH http://www.hdrlabs.com/picturenaut/plugins.html
