  1. Been working on other things but finally got round to finishing this off. I'm still not happy with it, the composition needs a lot of work but I couldn't move the camera too much as the unseen parts of the scene are incomplete. I learnt a lot though for next time so that's always good! Let me know what you think. Thanks.
  2. You mean like the layout for a room? Use splines for the shape then just apply an extrude modifier. If you want some depth to them, just apply a shell modifier.
  3. Much appreciated Corey, that's just what I was looking for. OK will keep working on this to try and add more detail. Thanks again.
  4. Studio/Institution: Self Genre: Residential Exterior Software: 3DS Max/Vray Description: I've put this in WIP but I'm done with it really. I'm spent a lot of time tinkering but it still looks pretty terrible. It's this camera angle with this lighting. Only post done is add the sky. I'm self taught/not very experienced so any suggestions to make it look more realistic are welcome. Thanks in advance.
  5. Took a couple of days to verify this post by the mods so I worked it out. I'm sure most of you know how but I just used splines, fillet round parts, convert to editable poly, then extrude.
  6. I'm looking to model just the main part of this house. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, I just can't seem to get the nice curve on the inside with the square outside. Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi Matt. When I converted to an Epoly it just left the vertices, no edges. I checked the vertices on the spline and they seemed to be connected/welded so not sure what the problem is. I'm new to max, but not 3d software, so it could be a fairly simple problem.
  8. This post took around a day to approve. I appreciate it's new years eve though so just want to say that I've solved the problem myself. If anyone's interested, I broke the spline up into 4 pieces across the windshield and used a cross section modifier, then a surface modifier. Tweaked the vertices a bit and it looks ok. Still open to suggestions though if there's a better way. Thanks.
  9. I'm trying to create some geometry for a windshield. I've used the window trim to create a spline but not sure where to go from there. The windshield does have a slight curve (http://cdn-www.rsportscars.com/images/audi/2008-audi-tt-coupe-32-quattro/auditt07_121600.jpg) if that makes any difference. Also, it is only half a spline as it was taken from something with a symmetry modifier. Thanks in advance.
  10. Thanks John, I'll check that out. Any more suggestions welcome.
  11. I'm still pretty new to modelling cars and, although I've got quite a few prints, none seem to match up very well and my photoshop skills are not up to doing it myself. If I was bit more experienced it wouldn't be so much of a problem, but it would be useful to have good ones that make the modelling as easy as possible. Could someone kindly send me a link for some good car prints please or email some you've matched up? Any car is good. Thanks in advance.
