  1. Thank you for the comments DennisHolland, now that you said, im finding a little strange the the trees with these palm too... Yes...this tiling wood is anoying...I shoud have edited it on PS. ipdesigner, i think the white tile and the white reflect environment gave the water that aspect....to say the truth, i didnt like it very much too. hidr, ive already forgot the render times. I can say that the Back view took more than 10 hours at 4000 px, the front, about 2 hours and the internal i dont remember. Thank you for the other comment, i agree with you
  2. Hi guys Im back to cgarchitect, after a long time without posting here. But im missing the discussions i had here... I liked this work because the design and the rendering together generated a good final work in my opinion. Im using the Vray,i think the last time i posted here, more than an year, i was using Max radiosity. All comments are welcome thanks
  3. fabiobit, jysngltndz, Bhanu: thanks for the kind comments Rick: I changed to vray when one render i made with lighttracer took 1 week to render ...so, it was because external images i began to use vray. For internals, i dont like the "washed" look of radiosity, so, i began to use vray too. skogskalle: the 3rd pic scale is corrrect...it may give the impression of small objects but the ambient that is very large.About the couch, ill try to convince my partners to share it, because its from a internal library we model. doujay888: i dont "master" vray yet. I started to use it about 3 or 4 months only, i have a lot of things to learn yet. About the materials, we aways create our settings, so, i dont know where you can download it.
  4. After a long time without posting here, ill show some images we (me and my partners) rendered with vray (i used to use radiosity, but recently i change to vray engine) They are views from a hotel and a residential building the render times (at 3000 px) varies from 2 hours to 20 hours
  5. first...use a adv light override material and reduce to 0 the inditect bump map amount
  6. Hey Bruno Nice image I think the scene needs more detais, because it seems very clean and empty. Try some light spots, some objects. And add more detail to the structure. I really liked the entourage, its all photoshop? Hugs

  9. Hey dmedraft i see some paralax at this images if using max 5 or 6 you can use the Camera Correction or manually put the camera and the target at the same height
  10. Guys, first, sorry for this long delay to reply this post (more than a month), but i was finishing my semester at university (yeah...im on vacations in March), and i had millions of things to do. i really became surprised with this comments because most of them were about caracteristics i wanted to explicit...This was not a project to be surrounded by reality, but to pass some dream impression, surrealistic feelings. It was very very conceptual. So lets comment the comments Richard McCarthy: 1- Like i said above, i trully wanted to pass this kind of feeling, something out of reality, and i think that the CGish appearance fit well. 2- Same as above 3- Did you remember the "Yellow Brick Road" ? 5- two explanations...Motels (here in Brazil) dont have windows....in this case we could do an exterior space with a open in the ceiling, but we choose to keep the atmosphere totally artificial. Thank very much for spending some time commenting it...hugs... Rick Eloy Fala fei... Yeah...the bed was really an elevator system...i have a pic of the "second floor The idea is people came, and see no bed (it will be hiding on ceiling)...and after trying push some buttons it will appear. About the scenarios, we had to be subjective about it...we couldnt show something explicit, like the castle or doroty bedroom. In the first studies, we developed a darker atmosphere and received a low grade salf 1-the bed is really horrible...but all of you know how is to work at 4:00 AM, after beeing in front of the computer by about 30 hours initerrupt, and hiting the monitor with your head, in order to finish the work on the deadline but...no excuse...i deserve some punishment for this ¨%&*$# 2-the elevator system is based on motors placed above the ceiling and steel cables supporting the bed...maybe its possible, but reality was not the focus 3-funny, but, to pass the idea of "falsity...joke" the table is placed over a mirror, that gives the impression of a hole...the teacher loved it Finally, this was only a funny project to show, the objective was to play with some concepts and have some fun (and a lot of work) And i wont update this images and the project...it was for an old school work, and will not be on my portfolio...i just showed it as a curiosity PS: why cant use smiles??
  11. Hey friends Let me tell you the history of this images: In August 2003, i had to do a project of a Motel bedroom (here in Brazil, motel is a kind of a hotel were people goes to have sex). But...we had to adopt a theme for the project. The theme was movies. And me and 3 classmates choosed "The Wizard of Oz" as a theme. Pause... To reach this result, our teacher gave us some questions and ideas: - The film gives us an idea of false, colorfull ambient, and we had to express it on this project - The idea of mistake. Some things are hidden or not obvious So, i already talked so much, there are the pics: PS: befor someone comment abou the flowers, its mapped this way because its supposed to be only image os plants (for the idea of falsity) Thanks
  12. Hey Silver Very nice renders. I like very much the feeling of the scene...its a beach hotel? I want to go there... So...lets find some points: 1 - In the first image, the noise on the stone floor is very contrastant, seems that it is wet. 2 - the other stone floor you mapped it plannar and the map stretched on the side 3 - On the second, the roof tiles have large and high bumping, i think it should be more plain. 4 - there is a Two-headed-woman below the yellow house?? Finishing, the entourage on the second is very good and balanced, i liked it very much Hugs
  13. my advices 1- use a small mesh size, about 5 or 6 inches (i work with centimeters) 2- by reducing the mesh size you can play with 80 to 85% of quality (more than 92 only to final images with good deadlines) 3- select the bigger plane surfaces (walls, ceiling and floor) and set it 50 to 100 of refine...the global can be 20 or 30 4- maybe the filter can be reduced to 2 with this new settings. Hugs
  14. I asked because here they always insist on teaching this damm form-z and vector works (all because that evil thing called Macintosh) I worked with form-z about 1 year and then changed to 3d max... the way of modeling depends for each one, but i prefer to import the Cad plans to 3d viewport and then draw with snaps and extrude the shapes. Other thing i recommend its not to invest learning lightscape, because discreet had incorporate it to max (but not so perfectly) and there are lot of GI renderers to be used with max without the many modeling requiremets to work with lightscape
