Displacement Map Vray in C4D

Recommended Posts

Hi There.

New to using Vray in C4D and I am trying to create a pebbled rooftop of a commercial building.

I've think the way to go is using a displacement map and image of pebbles...is this right?

The trouble I am having is combining the displacement material and a diffuse material.

I have them on separate materials right now (one displacement and one advanced material) hw do i get them both on one material.

Thank you

Hey sheriff,

the solution is to put the vray displacement shader on the object first and then just place another vray material on top of it. Displacement should always be first and texture second. The order is from left to right :)

You can up the segments and that should help with the displacement precision. If the effect is too strong try lowering the displacement strength.

To get a rough idea how the displacement is going to look like I like to use the displacement deformer, it will adjust your shape in the viewport...

Did you get it to work right?
