Missing Textures

I imported a big geometry file with many missing textures.

Every time i open the file it´s asking for those missing texture files

I checked all the "Scene materials" but could not find the textures i am asked for.

I could ignore it because the scene materials are ok

BUT it causes troubles at network rendering and Vray´s Distributed Rendering.

How can i find those hidden culprits?

Try remove scene states

3ds Max menu "Tools" -> "Manages Scene States"

Also you can try the Project Manager plugin

Be note that PM doesn't support to "Scene States Manager"
