  1. ...and here's a scrrenshot of my scene settings...
  2. yes, sorry for the files. here they are. No. 1 and 2 show problems with GI. I just rendered concrete walls ans slabs, as soon as I add windows and staircases, more complexe geometries, rendering pains with processing irradiance map. 3 and 4 are best results i can get with some omny lights, what keeps the image to dark and without atmosphere... The geometry is imported from rhino as 3ds mesh. Might that be the problem? thanks again.
  3. Hy everybody, I hope someone has time to deal with my really basic problems: I start using V ray on max 5.1, and I just can't find a good lighting combination. When I use Gi alone, it gives me some weared shadows everywere, looks like burnmarks on the buildings, and shadows are pixelated. If I ad standard omni lights, it becomes to havy to render - maybe because of transparent materials..? I'd like to use some photometric light, but the shadows don't seem to work. What am I doing wrong? thanks in adwance.
  4. Nice renderings. Actually, I'm just answering because I want to post a thread, and I don't know where to do this on my freshly created account. Could someone help me please? thanks. Well, since I'm here, this is my primary problem: I'm checking out V ray for the first time on my old max 5.1. I'm learning with a tutorial, creating vray materials and vray lights exactly as described, but: Vray Materials in the editor would keep black, even if illumination looks ok in the viewport and even if rendering with defaut lighting works. But when I ad photometric light, the rendering turns black too... thanks in advance for your help.
