1. Hello! I have a need for an Acrylic material and downloaded one. It is a VrayMat, a Clear Blue Acrylic. For the Life of me, I can't change the Blue to any other color! Herevis the .mat file: https://www.sendspace.com/file/xrjxom It is a simple clear blue material. The Diffuse entry is white and there are no maps? This is the strangest problem I have ever had... THANK YOU!
2. Hey everyone I'm having a bit of an issue and need help. I am currently working with Vray 2.3 and have an interior project I've been working on doing stills. For the stills I've been using the vray frame buffer color curve corrections and exposure corrections when saving out my renders. Now we are doing an animation and the renders don't seem to be saving using the correction info and I can't seem to get the same effect in after effects. Is there a way to make the animation frames (I'm rendering thru backburner to a render farm) save with the vray frame buffer corrections? Please help. Thanks.
3. Is it possible to clamp exponential value to say, for example '200' (instead of default '255')? I'm getting white burnt areas around window and thought this solution would help. Exponential – this mode will saturate the colors based on their brightness. This can be useful to prevent burn-outs in very bright areas (for example, around light sources, etc.). This mode will clamp colors so that no value exceeds (255, or 1 in floating point value) Thanks for reading. Kelvin.
4. Interesting article here for those of you using Nvidia cards to run your display via HDMI. http://www.overclock3d.net/articles/gpu_displays/nvidia_hdmi_inaccurate_rgb_colour_and_fix/1
5. I'm setting up some shaders for my library and sometimes when I set a diffuse color value it changes after I close/re-open the color picker. I checked MANY times and it's still happening. Perhaps this was always the case and I never saw it until now? The HSV went from 25,159,6 to 21,170,6 but the RGB sliders don't change. What the deuce!?
6. So i need a new monitor. I'm a student, and i have $270 / 200€. I thought I'll buy http://www.dell.com/bg/business/p/dell-s2440l/pd ...this, or http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/monitors/1287364/benq-ew2430/specifications ...this one. Their price are almost the same. What do you think about these? Do you know a better monitor for $270 or below? I need it mostly for 3ds max and photoshop with good color representation (i dont need it for games). Thank you.
7. Hello everyone, I don't know where should I introduce myself so here I am my name is Martín I'm an architect from Argentina. I want to learn from this great community and share my experiences too. I'm just having this issue using 3Ds Max 2013 and Vray 2.30.01. All the materials are vray mat and lights are a mix of vray lights, vray sun and ray traced omnis. Sometimes when I increase light cache subdivs everything gets burn. This is a low quality 1000*500 pixel fixed sampler and no filter test image. Do you have any idea of what could be doing this? Thanks!
8. Studio/Institution: Freelancer Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3ds max + vray Description: Hi guys. This is the first time i have to create an indian themed interior, so i could use some help. Just what to add, what to change, are the material and colors okay, ... ? I thought I'll put a candle on every stand and some smaller candles on the table. Tell me what you think. Thanks.
9. So here's my setup, I'm rendering a car in desert scene with the vray lens effects bloom and glare. All there is, is the car, the ground plane, and a spherical environment map that is a tiff. My problem is that when I render with the 3ds max frame buffer, the lens effects do not turn out right (first image). So I render with the Vray frame buffer and they look fine, but with the lens effect active, vray decides to wash out the color of the background (second image). Anyone have this problem or know of a solution?
10. Studio/Institution: personal work Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3DS Max 2011 Design - Mental Ray Description: Here's an attempt to study the moods achieved by altering the colors in a rendered image. Ultimately, I hope to learn more about appropriate post-production methods for achieving a desired mood for a corresponding environment.
11. What do you think about ColorVision Spyder2? It has a very good price for hardware color management. http://www.letsgodigital.org/html/review/colorvison/spyder2/colorvision_spyder2_en.html
12. So after years of going blind trying to match on screen colors to those of the swatches on my desk, I have found two cheats. the first is a swatch palette from Sherwin Williams that plugs in to photoshop. Obviously, it only works with Sherwin williams colors but 90% of the arch projects I work on spec either SW or MAB paints. After dropping the file into the swatches folder you can load it in your swatch palette and then if you select list instead of thumbnail you get the number and the name of the color. So no fighting with the client if the color is correct. Sherein williams has this as a free download so I'm attaching it to this post. the other color helper is a website: http://www.easyrgb.com/index.php?X=SEEK sherwin williams site to download the swatch file. http://www.sherwin-williams.com/pro/paint_colors/paint_color_samples/color_visualizer/index.jsp
