  1. Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to the CGArchitect community to discuss an aspect of our workflow that I believe is often overlooked: the importance of having a dedicated data storage server for our architectural visualization projects. As many of you know, our work involves handling massive files, from high-resolution textures to complex 3D models and extensive renderings. Over the past few months, I’ve faced challenges with file management and collaboration within my team, especially when multiple projects are in progress simultaneously. This led me to consider investing in a dedicated data storage server. Setting up a dedicated server has significantly streamlined our workflow. It not only centralizes our project files but also enhances data accessibility for the entire team. We’ve adopted a NAS (Network Attached Storage) solution that allows for easy file sharing and collaboration, making it simple to version control and backup critical assets. This has been especially beneficial for our remote team members, who can now access files without delays or version conflicts. I’m curious to hear if anyone else has implemented a dedicated data storage server in their workflow. What systems or setups have you found to be effective? Are there particular software solutions that integrate well with your storage setup? I’ve been using Synology's software suite, which has been intuitive, but I’d love to know if there are alternatives worth exploring. I believe that sharing our experiences with data storage solutions can help us all improve our processes. Looking forward to your insights and recommendations!
