Working on a practice render by copying a photo (included in this thread) and seeing if i can get the general feel. I've watched many corona tutorials but can't seem to pinpoint a specific workflow. If anyones willing i'd love some help getting started with the corona workflow. I've saw some tutorials but they are a bit different regarding procedure, understandably. I've set up two rectangular corona lights, set their intensity to 1 and trying to get a decent look with a mid gray material (shown in the pictures) by tweaking the tone maping before moving on to texturing, but i can't figure out what to touch, i remeber seeing something about a parameter which was to get the general look ok, another that was to get the highlights and another for hte shadows, but i cant find them now, i think im using a different version than i tried so long ago. Anyway, any help regarding this is greatly apreciated. Thank you

Hello everyone, I’m currently trying to find out how one could make the lives of new Archicad users a lot easier. Which is why I have two very simple questions: 1) As a beginner in Archicad (or if you have ever tried Archicad), what are 2 biggest issues you are dealing with? 2) Regarding learning Archicad, what would you wish for more than anything else? Hello everyone! My colleague and I have been trying to wrap our heads around the Archviz conference circuit recently since our boss has promised he would send us to one this year. I just wanted to see what conferences you all recommend and start a general discussion about attending conferences and how to get the most out of them. I saw a really good thread from 2017 and thought we could talk about 2019. (Let me know if this thread already exists) So far, we're looking at: D2 because we've heard it's awesome. Total Chaos because Chaos Group is awesome. And ASAI because it seems like the only good archviz focused conference in the US/NA-we're in western Massachusetts. Of course, I could be totally wrong there. I've been to Siggraph, which I really enjoyed, but since it's for work this time I want to go to one that is archviz specific. THU sounds amazing, of course, but similar issues there. Would love to hear what you guys think of the above in terms of who's going where this year, good/bad experiences, recommendations, cost, etc.

Going to have to start looking for a job soon and have a bit of a dilemma. I do all my modeling in Autocad but most companies nowadays from what I can make out model in Max. I can texture, light and render in Max (to a high standard, no problems there, so I know my way around Max) but have only ever done basic modeling in Max. It may be that I am just "old school" but I have never considered Max better than Acad for modeling. But if I want to compete in the job market today I am gonna have to learn! Can anyone suggest a good tutorial or course for architectural 3d modeling in Max? I have had a look around and am considering getting the Lynda:3ds Max 9 Modeling dvd http://store.lynda.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=645, but want to see if there is anything better out there before I shell out the $100. I suppose I am looking for something intermediate or advanced but preferably specifically for the "architectural visualiser" (I really don't care how you model an alien head!)
