  1. Our office would like to get more standardized regarding file folder structure. My previous office used something akin to the AIA best practices format below. http://www.aia.org/aiaucmp/groups/ek_members/documents/pdf/aiap016614.pdf It served us well, but I personally found the numbers that precede each folder name to be a bit visually noisy and unnecessary. So, I'm thinking of ditching them for our office. Aside from sorting folders somewhat chronologically as their needed during the project, do the numbers serve any other purpose? I could see if they corresponded to sections in AIA contracts sections, but I don't think that's the case. Regardless, I'm interested in hearing opinions on whether the numbering serves some greater purpose and/or if people find them useful in general.
