  1. HI every 1 i am looking for a dual xeon latest build budget of 4,500 to 5,000 $ and i mainly do 3d renderings software like (3ds max, vray, corona render, unreal engine)
  2. Hi everyone, Just got this new machine. Looking for nice people to work with.
  3. Hi, I use Rhino and vray as my main tools for modelling / rendering. I have a relatively new main workstation and a small farm consisting on a Asus G73 laptop and another 2 less powerful desktops that I had around. However my laptop died (motherboard is gone) and I'm looking for an extra system to replace it. My main workstation right now: Intel I7 4770K o'clocked at 4.6 Mhz and very stable MB Asus Z87M-PLUS 32 GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 4GB SSD 256GB + 3TB HD Corsair CMPSU-650AX 650W Gold AX PSU Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler New machine budget $1,500 tops My thoughts: 1.- Getting another laptop as fast as possible to replace the dead one so that I can also use it as my portable station when I need to (not very often but always useful to have the option if I travel) or ..... 2.- Build a rig faster than my current one listed above to be used as the main station using the good video card and big hard drives from my current workstation. I'm interested mainly in the processor power and the 4770K still is a great processor as rendering slave and a small hard drive and a cheap or even on-board video card will do. I know that for the same money a desktop buys me more power so maybe I should forget the laptop option for the times I'll be needing to have something portable ... I any case, what would be the best $/GHz rendering rig that $1500 can buy me, i7? Xeon ? single? Dual ? taking in account that I could use some of the components as I mention above. I get easily lost with so many opinions ... Thanks
  4. Hi, I am planning to build a PC intended for use with Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Autodesk Autocad, 3Ds max, Maya, Keyshot, Solidworks and the like. I'm not a professional but do video editing, animation and 3D design mostly as a hobby at the moment, but I am looking to study 3D design at university next year so will need a good computer to cope with the stresses of the various CAD softwares. The is the Build so far- CPU Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM Motherboard Asus Z87-PRO ATX LGA1150 Memory Patriot Viper 3 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Storage Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" SSD Case Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Power Supply Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Optical Drive Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) I am stuck on the GPU front, I have basically narrowed it down to the K2000 or a W5000 or a GTX 780 or a R9 290 but i am just unsure about which one would be the best for what i am wanting to do, could you give me any suggestions/advice on these cards? I am also thinking about going with x79 platform with the 4930k processor (if i can make my budget stretch that far!) how much do you think i would benefit from this over the z87 platform? Is it worth the extra money? Also if i could make my budget stretch to getting a K4000 which of the following options do you think would be the best 1. Get a K4000 but stick with the z87 platform or 2. Go a with the 4930k processor but get a GPU which isn't as good such as the ones above? Also any advice on any of the components in the build as it stands would be very much appreciated as well. Many Thanks
  5. Is it really worth buying the i7? The FX 8350 is faster when we look at the numbers and costs half compared to the i7 4770. I saw many people on the internet talking about the 4770 (or 4xxx) processors, but I think the FX 8350 is just as good as some i7 CPUs, but costs less. FX 8350 has 32ghz in total while the i7 4770 has "only" 27.2ghz. What is your opinion?
  6. Do you think it's worth buying a dual socket motherboard and two opteron processors or a 6 core i7, a water cooler and overclock it a bit?
