  1. Hi guys, Sadly our studio is closing down and we are selling off our hardware. Please see specs below for this renderboxes render farm that we used in-house. Rendering through C4D & Redshift we saw this as a really good investment instead of using cloud services. A Link to the images for it online: https://www.renderboxes.com/product/nano/ Purchased new for 14k and looking to sell at 60%, so pricing this guy at £8400. In great condition and been looked after well. Based in London, SW8 3JX. Would be collection only due to its weight. Thanks guys! 2. Hey Just working on this piece, and wondering how to improve it. Yes there are quite a lot of scratches at the top, maybe too much, but I'm playing with the idea of keeping it, but open for change. Thoughts welcome on how to make it look better. Best T
  3. Hello everyone, here on the site are not long ago. In the sphere of 3ds max are much, in all cmpanii that I activated render was not the final product. Now at the moment I am unemployed and trying to find some clients on the topic of indoor and outdoor 3D visualization. During the time I was employed and now at the moment in my free time I make visualizations so that I do not process and move forward Harder. You can simply give me some advice in finding clients maybe I'm not doing something right and I'm not going in the right direction. Thank you in advance for the advice. I wish you as productive a day as possible. Have a nice day.
  4. Episodes Explore NFT Boom with Focus on Benefits to Artists; Latest Episode Premieres Today with NYU Professor/Cryptology Expert, David Yermack LOS ANGELES – April 26, 2021 – Today, Chaos’ CG Garage podcast announces the launch of a series focused on NFTs (nonfungible tokens). With NFTs sweeping through the art world, turning digital artists into sudden millionaires, the opportunities can seem limitless. But NFTs also come with a bunch of questions, especially for artists unfamiliar with cryptocurrency. The series seeks to explain what they are, why they matter and how to get started, so artists can make more informed decisions about their careers. “CG Garage has always been about shedding a light on what matters to CG artists, whether that’s how they came up, interesting projects or just making sense of emerging opportunities,” said Christopher Nichols, CG Garage host and director of Chaos Labs. “The DeFi world is fascinating, but it also needs a guided introduction for most people. In these episodes, we’re talking to artists and experts in the know, who can easily illuminate the many facets of NFTs, from basic ideas like ‘what is Ethereum?’ to their carbon footprint. If you’re curious, this is where to start.” For the uninitiated, NFTs are digital tokens that can be used to track the ownership of a digital asset. Because they live on a blockchain (or decentralized ledger), these digital tokens can be easily validated as totally unique, giving the owner access to an evolving investment or bragging rights. While online superstars like Grimes and Beeple have already sold NFTs for millions, they also offer a new way for CG artists to sell and profit off their art, moving them from social media likes to recurring royalties without any help from the traditional gallery system. Two episodes are available now, including today’s discussion with the head of NYU’s finance department, David Yermack. Several more will be released in the coming weeks. The current series will include: ● Sally Slade, Magnopus’ lead AR/VR developer, explains what she had to do to get her digital drawing onto the NFT market, using a $100 budget as a constraint. ● David Yermack, NYU Stern cryptocurrency professor, breaks down the key concepts behind NFTs in the most accessible way possible, getting into issues of ownership, the value of digital copies and the role digital artists can play in the NFT market. ● Alex Coulombe & Samuel Arsenault-Brassard will join the podcast on May 10 to talk about how they created an art exhibit using virtual architecture and NFTs. ● David Levy, Avatar 2 concept artist, will stop by on May 24 to explain how the changing profit model and new financial opportunities are impacting the artist community. The series is designed to be listened to in order to build up the listener’s knowledge base, moving from initial ideas to a more versed, actionable understanding as things progress. CG Garage is available to download and stream (for free) on the Chaos Group website, Apple Podcast, Spotify and Gaana. 5. Hi Guys, I ve ran into a situation with one of my scenes where it is taking ages to render in Mental ray (studio max 2014). The render size is 600x600 with draft render settings everything set to low in the render window settings. I then looked into my CPU usage and noticed that it fluctuates between 2% and 40% and never reaches 100%. I will normally leave to pc to do its own thing without interruption. usually it hangs round 10-20% for most of the time. I have enable Multi-threading, set the 3D Max to highest priority in process tab and affinity is on all CPUs. I noticed with another scene the CPU will only reaches 100% usage when the render is nearly complete. Also pre render tasks for these scenes will take longer than usual calculating. I have exhausted my search for an answer, please help. If I have left vital information out please let me know and I will post it. PC specs are: 2 CPUs - Xeon E5620 @2.40GHz = 16 threads Qaudro 4000 24 GB RAM SSD 250 GB AND 2x 1TB HDD
  6. Hello! This is my first time using the CG forum (actually, any forum AT ALL!) and I'm here to read what you guys have to say about this current project I'm working at and see where I can improve, I'm sure I'll learn with everyone since this is my first year learning and working with 3D Render! If you stopped by to give me a little advice I'll be eternally thankful!
  7. I hope I am following etiquette and that I am posting in the right group. What are the differences between these render farms and how can they benefit your project? Let’s find out! 1. What is Rebus render farm? RebusFarm is a German-based company that is part of the growing commercial rendering service for studios around the world. The company has a high capacity for data rendering with 3,000 XEON CPUs at their disposal. They offer a cloud rendering service that can handle almost every major 3D software out there. It is based on the model of SAAS (software -as-a-Service). You will submit your job directly from a plugin inside the 3D software. With the experience of more than 14 years in the field of 3D rendering, Rebus has been improving a lot to be one the the most trusted render cloud services. For CPU rendering, the render farm operates with AMD’s Thread Ripper 3970X and for GPU rendering, they provide NVIDIA’s Quadro RTX 6000 to render jobs on the cloud. 2. What is iRender farm? iRender is a Vietnamese company operating internationally that is based on the model of IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service), which rents the GPUs and CPUs on the cloud for 3D rendering. iRender was developed with the most powerful GPU and CPU infrastructure that can handle all the heavy-duty tasks like a breeze. The GPUs used are RTX 2080Ti/ RTX 3080/ RTX 3090 with heavy-duty processors (Dual Xeon E5-2670 & Intel Xeon Processor W-2245) having multiple cores to support the heaviest workload. The simple to use rental service by iRender is the best, as it involves just a few steps to get started. First, register to the service, then create a new work environment or better known as a system image. This work environment will be saved and automatically loaded for the user as soon as logging into the account. After that, a remote desktop connection will be set up, and the user will be provided with a file with login credentials. The file transfer process is unique, it can transfer files even when the server is turned off, so the users can make changes any time. Furthermore, major cloud transferring platforms like Dropbox, Google Drive are also supported. Additionally, multiple servers can also be used, and the system image can automatically be generated, thus providing usefulness to the users. iRender aims to facilitate everyone to access to the best and most powerful machines to turn their dreams into reality by providing their cloud render services for them. 3. Render farm considerations Render farms do have sets of parameters and limits, so it isn’t always easy to compare companies. There are also important questions that you should have answered before hiring a service, such as: · What software & plugin does the render farm support? Is the render farm compatible with the software you’re using? · How much are you looking to spend? · Is the pipeline and workflow easy enough to be integrated and used? · What are the security, policy, and guidelines on the protection of privacy that they offer? · What are payment methods, claim and refund policies? · How about the customer support? Some farms can’t export in a file type compatible with a certain workflow. A render farm’s highest priority is to save you time, so as with any processor-heavy project, be sure to do as much research as you can so that you can fully enjoy the benefits this type of service can offer. 4. WHICH ONLINE RENDER FARM IS BEST FOR YOUR NEEDS? I have actually used both render farms and I use 3dsmax, vray. I am an interior designer and have been using different render farms and I can tell you the differences and what will benefit you more. When I used Rebusfarm it was nice, but I now know that it has some cons when using it. I sent a few renderings from my interior scenes and it was very expensive but since that was the time I started using render farms I was impressed with the speed and thought that the cost was normal. Then you have to have everything organized such as your textures, plugins, maps, and all your settings otherwise it won’t render. Then if there are problems with the rendering they will message you which is a good thing, but they won’t continue the render until you fix absolutely everything. Now, don’t get me wrong but Rebusfarm is good but I would say for smaller projects and if you don’t have a tight deadline. As I have used them for large architectural projects and they were not close to the quote that was given with their calculator and during tight deadlines I have found that they aren’t really good on response times with customer service even on their Germany working hours. So just be sure you know what you are getting into before sending your render to Rebusfarm. Now iRender is a bit different from the average renderfarm that I find. Unlike Rebusfarm, it doesn’t have a plug-in that you download and a client. iRender brings a cloud GPU rental service that lets the users make use of the powerful and robust features of the servers at iRender while using their own computers on their own desk. Users will access the servers through Remote Desktop Application, and then, take full control of the remote machines. I can send multiple files for renderings at once and not have to worry about the rendering being stopped just because one thing is missing. Also, their customer service is much better and they get back to you almost right away. I have also found that when using iRender my costs are MUCH less than before and you can even see it for yourself. They are one of the lowest priced render farms and it’s one of the reasons many people use them. I have also added one of their support teams Whatsapp numbers and whenever I need help right away she is able to reply me asap anytime and seems to be awake 24/7 and seems like she never sleeps but it’s always the same guy. I also love the convenience where I can see the progress of the rendering at any time if I need to fix something and render it again. 5. FINAL THOUGHTS These services are readily available to offer you the power and expedience you need to put your project, concept, or presentation together quickly and beautifully. Honestly you can try both Rebusfarm and iRender farm to see what you most prefer, but my preference is iRender farm for a few main reasons. One of them being is the convenience of their client and the user interface is simple that anyone can use. Two, it is very cost effective compared to many other render farms and allows you to save a lot on rendering costs for future and many other renders. Three, I can see the process of my rendering to see if I need to resend the rendering. Four, you can contact customer support at any time to customize the hardware upto your needs. Five, you are able to run single card software like Lumion, Sketchup, Unreal Engine, so on, which can’t be supported on other render farms. Six, the servers at iRender are highly available when you rent in days or week or month, users can access whenever they need without worrying about full servers or queueing in line like common cloud render farms. Next, as they don’t charge you for the transfering files. Lastly, their customer service is top notch so if you have a deadline you can contact them and they will always be happy to help. So those are my reasons but I suggest trying both renderfarms and see what you find suits you best.
  8. New Physical Material with 35 Presets, an Upgraded Sky Model and Average Performance Boosts of 15% Now Available for Artists and Designers PRAGUE, Czech Republic – July 21, 2021 – Today, Chaos Czech releases Corona Renderer 7 for 3ds Max, an update designed to enhance the realism of 3D scenes and boost render speeds across the board. From photoreal fabrics to expansive sky effects, Corona Renderer 7 makes it easier for artists to stand out. With 35 new presets for glass, metal and fabric, the new Physical Material makes it simple to set up hyper-realistic scenes in minutes. Though intuitive for beginners, the Physical Material also comes with multiple features for deeper control, including Sheen parameters for creating photoreal fabrics like velvet, and Clearcoat, which allows users to add lacquer to objects like cars without making them look plastic. To maintain compatibility with preexisting scenes, the previous Corona Material will still be available as a legacy option. In Corona Renderer 7, the Sky Model sees its biggest expansion yet. Artists can now accurately depict a digital sun and weather from any cliff or skyscraper using the new Altitude Parameter, which leverages real-world data to calculate what the sky will look like from any height. Meanwhile, the new Volume Effect improves the look of large-scale scenes by blending distant objects like mountains more naturally with the atmosphere. This effect is not only easier to control than a Global Volume material, it renders faster too. Faster rendering isn’t just limited to the Volume Effect. Corona Renderer 7 users will also enjoy faster render times, which can be as fast as 50% on scenes heavily using newly optimized features like better transparency processing and faster denoising. This boost even extends to data/scene opening, as files will now open quicker due to the background loading of Corona Bitmaps and Proxies. Other New Features Include: Glass Material Improvements – Create frosted glass that renders quickly with refractions on thin glass in the Physical Material. Industry-Standard Defaults – Automatically apply Roughness and IOR as material defaults for greater compatibility with industry standards, or switch to Glossiness and Specular when desired. More Control Over Metals – Control metals materials more intuitively using the default Edge Color parameter, or use Complex IOR for physically correct scenes. To try Corona Renderer 7 for 3ds Max now, please visit the Chaos Czech website. Pricing/Availability Corona Renderer 7 is available now for 3ds Max 2014-2022 (64-bit). Pricing is subscription-based, with monthly rates set at $28.50 and yearly rates at $330. A free 45-day commercial trial is also available at: https://corona-renderer.com/download. 9. Production Renderer Adds Support for C4D’s Latest Material Node Editor; Plus Material Translucency Updates, New Mask Capabilities and More LOS ANGELES – June 23, 2021 – Today, Chaos launches V-Ray 5 for Cinema 4D, update 1, building the community’s most requested feature into a production workflow. With new support for node-based material editing, artists can now achieve true photorealism without sacrificing any creative choices they’ve made along the way. “We always strive to have V-Ray integrated as seamlessly as possible, so it always feels like an extension of an artist's favorite app,” says Phillip Miller, vice president of product management at Chaos. “Now, users can view and manage their entire V-Ray shading network within Cinema 4D, using the Material Node Editor throughout the entire creation process – from first ideas to finishing touches.” The V-Ray Material has also been updated, making it easier to create translucent materials in just a few clicks. With built-in volumetric subsurface scattering, this can be immediately applied to skin, plastic, wax and more with brilliant results. Beyond Rendering Like all V-Ray integrations, V-Ray 5 for Cinema 4D, update 1 is geared to help artists do more in one place, including relight and composite from a single render. In the latest update, artists can start rendering multiple dome lights at the same time. Direct support in Light Mix makes it easier than ever to mix light sources and relight a scene – even after it’s already been rendered. If pixel-perfect adjustments are required, artists can use any of V-Ray’s masking render elements directly in the V-Ray Frame Buffer’s Compositor, including Cryptomatte, MultiMatte and Object, Render and Material IDs, to fine tune an image without re-rendering or turning to another app. Additional V-Ray Features Include: Progressive Caustics – Rendering reflected lighting from surfaces like glass and water is now far easier to achieve. V-Ray Fur – Users can render hair and fur faster than ever before. From grass and fabrics to carpets, hair and more, artists can work quickly using the same procedural tool employed on major productions. 11. Overnight Batch Render is a simple yet powerful batch rendering tool for 3dsMax, capable to process multiple scene files sequentially on a single computer. Overnight can handle multiple scene files, multiple cameras per scene and even different scene states, working together with 3dsMax built-in Batch Render tool. Easily add your max files to the Render Queue, either during the working day or at the end of it, and fire the render just before you leave. It has the ability to suppress warning messages, that usually show up when opening or rendering new scenes, avoiding interruptions in the rendering process. You can override the output size, filename and frame range for all your renders from a single place. Very useful to quickly test changes, render previews or generate thumbnails of your files. Never lose a rendered image! The plugin prevents file overwriting and auto-saves renders with missing output filenames. This is a commercial script for Autodesk 3ds Max 2015 and higher. 12. I get weird renderings with "render to texture" when VRayDisplacementMod is on. Can anyone hint to why that can happen? Vray 3.6 (image at the bottom is without VRayDisplacementMod)
  13. Hi there, I'm rendering one of my projects from last year again. All files and settings were saved and they seem to be the same as far as I can remember. However, the shadows are much darker in the completed render. I still have the separately saved GI layer from last year and they aren't the same but I can't figure out why they are different since it's the exact same file. Please help. I need the same render result as the old render. Photos: https://imgur.com/a/Ko8OAJM - Vray/3ds Max

  16. Hey guys, Was hoping somebody would be able to offer some advice/guidance on the following issue, and save my hair from being pulled out. So, whenever I try to bake some lovely Vray textures I get some irregular blotches/holes in my flattened texture maps. This only seems to be an issue when I use Vray during the Render To Texture process. You can see what i'm referring to in the following image: https://ibb.co/nEGXQf In this scene, there's no objects intersecting (just two default Max spheres, a Vray plane and Vray light). The blue sphere, which i'm looking to render, has been UVW Unwrapped, with it's channel set to 2 (also made this the mapping channel in Render To Texture dialogue box). It's been assigned a standard Vray material, and a VrayCompleteMap is the selected output - so hopefully this should all be consistent. I've tried using different combinations of GI engines, even turning GI off completely, upping light samples, switching UV channels, applying push modifiers to objects, resetting Xforms and just about every other solution offered in similar thread, but to no avail. If anyone has experienced a similar problem and found a solution you'd go down as a god in my books! Thanks in advance everyone and let me know if any other information is needed
  17. Hi, Does anyone know why there is a huge black spots at my render? It's on the top of the wall shelving in the attached photo. The wall finish is cement. and there's no overlapping walls also. Hope you could suggest on how to deal with this. Thank you!
  18. Set my light sup-divids to 16, DMC is to 16, Checked my reflection and refraction on my glass element on the right, Brute Force GI at 16 Primary Bounce - Brute Force not set Secondary Bounce - Brute Force not set light intensities are quite low using one colored blue light, one soft yellow light, both rectangular, also using some spotlights. Help Help !!
  19. This might be the most simple fix but I just cant think what it is, in 3ds max with Vray. The horizon is visible in the box when I render it out, while I want it to be translucent as it is in the scene. Best fix Ive got is making a white plane behind thats invisible to the camera, but that still doesnt make it translucent
  20. IMPORTANT: Update 3.1 - with added 3 scatter objects - for your trees, bushes, rocks... or whatever you wish to randomly scatter New version of Grass Kit 3 that was working with Vray - now completely reworked to give amazing and fast grass renders for Corona C4D users. link to buy: https://gumroad.com/bossco YouTube link: Linked video tutorial is for Vray, but is is completely same for Corona render... NOTE | If you experience message about missing plugin "container object" you can download this very useful plugin from Niklas Rosenstein's site for free... Grass Kit II will work without it as well, but you will not see icon and it will bother you every time you start C4D. Container object link: Container Object
  21. Hi Guys, I started facing a problem ever since I updated to Vray 3.6, when I render glass material with lights in it (light bulb for example) I get a problem with the pixels where the actual light is visible ( it comes out like colorful pixles) I know that this problem happens when subpixile mapping is not checked. the problem is that I cant seem to get Vray to stop ignoring subpixile mapping while having adaptive lights active. my scene have a lot of lights and I need the adaptive light option otherwise it will take too long to render. please help.
  22. Hello guys, I have a problem when rendering an interior scene animation. It is a little bit confusing. When I render a single frame the view seems to be fine, but once I run the animation a black pixels cloud appears in the frame. Does anyone know what can be the source of the problem?!
  23. Hello, I use 3ds Max for quite a short time. I have problem with rendering light flat surfaces in my scene - there are dark stains on ligh flat surfaces. I took rendering setting and lights from my previous colleague - as you can see in prtscns. I use 3ds max mostly for rendering basic exterior scenes and I need the rendering to be as quick as possible with sufficient quality. I would be vary glad to get some advice. As I've written, I am beginner, trying to learn more by myself, step by step. If you need more info about my settings, please write here. Thank you very much.
  24. Hey guys, if i understand correctly the better choices you have if you made a project in Revit are: a) render in A360 b) install Vray in Revit and render c) export to 3dsmax and render to Vray d) render in standalone Vray e) other? From your experience what is the preferable way to save time and have the best visual result (i am only familiar with vray as a renderer) and keep as a general workflow? In case such a post exists please share the link Thank you
