  1. I converted all set(BG) Elements into Vray Proxies. Now I want to make a Playblast in maya 2015 in texture mode using Vray proxies. How to get texture mode for VRay Proxies in Viewport?

  3. Hi, this is my first post here. Or, ever in a software forum I've recently started learning 3ds max on my own (started about 45 days ago) and its very tough to grasp, I must say. I'm having problems with Vray Proxy. I want to create realistic grass, like the people at Evermotion do. Using Vray Proxy. I followed their tutorial here http://www.evermotion.org/tutorials/show/7958/creating-3d-grass Instead of creating my own grass blades, I used an Evermotion model. Picked its material in Vray Material Editor. Then converted it into Vray Mesh. Imported the proxy back into the model, and it came as a box. Like it should. But now when I try to render it, the original grass patch is rendering but not the proxy. I've tried applying the same material to the proxy, but its not working. I was using Vray. Just to try everything, I switched to Default Scaline renderer and to my surprise, it gave me error at the time of rendering, 'The following objects require map coordinates and may not render correctly' and in the list was bunch of things along with Vray proxy 01. But no such message was given when I render using Vray. How can I fix this, please help? It has been bothering me since many many hours and I feel helpless. Thankyou
  4. Hello everyone Can anybody help me with these issues:confused:? 1. Suppose a scene has a lot of small complicated geometry like lots of cubicles in an office with lots of office stuff in each cubicle. How should I keep the rendering time low & the light calculations minimal esp if it was to be animated? Would Vrproxies help do you think? 2. Lots of vray lights simulating fluorescent tube lights vs vray light material applied to each tube- which would be more efficient render speed wise?
  5. hello guys, i have a few tech prob with vray proxy which is: 1- the scale of the proxy is changing when i re-open my max file in some period of time (after a week or two) how does this happened?? 2- how to export a high-poly car to vray mesh without loosing it uv mapping/ materials. till now i only use proxy for trees & grass. thank you in advance. will reply your comment a.s.a.p. regards, muck.
  6. Hello to everyone! I've been trying to find a good strategy to create a large city scene inside 3ds max 2011 64 and Vray 1.5 sp5, with lots of vegetation, buildings and real terrain topography. The project is an architectural city landscape planning, so accuracy concerning the -near to the camera- elements is needed. I ve been thinking to start placing the vegetation near the camera with Vray proxies(3d trees and plants) with Multiscatter on the topography, also extrude the buildings and place them on the toposurface .The question is, if there is a way to create the background city buildings(simple extrudes) also with Vray proxies, but based on the real to world Autocad plan..I know there is a way to work with boundaries in Multiscatter, but I am not sure about this workflow. The simple one, but "extremely heavy" solution (because of the size of the model) is to extrude the background buildings as well, place them on the toposurface and then try to be hopeful.(I would try to avoid this) does anybody have any suggestions for a workflow or any experience on working with large scale city scenes? I7 3.2Ghz, 16gigs of ram on Windows 7 64 bit thnx a lot
  7. i must be missing something here for which i might sound very stupid. i've created a vray proxy and checked automatically create proxy, when the same thing turns on to proxy on the same file i've created it, it works fine showing all the materials assigned but the problem is when i import that proxy in other file or even if i delete that same proxy and again import it, then it shows no materials. i've tried it again and again but can't find the solution:confused: hope i'll get some suggestions, thanks in advance
