changing the default lights characteristics

Got an issue with lighting, i have no idea how to solve it.

When you start a MAX project from scratch and you add a light, lets say an OMNI, it has its default characteristics that you then change, multiplier, attenuation, etc.....now if i change this light, lets say i set the attenuation at 5 m (default is 200 i think), and the multiplier at 0,03 (default its 1), all the lights i create after that one, has this settings, and not the default ones. why?.....

I've noticed that and been bothered by it myself. I don't really understand the logic behind it either. The only thing I can think of is that the programmers must believe that consecutive lights that are created will have similar settings to previous ones. It makes no sense though because any lights that had similar settings I would clone instead of create. I don't know of anyway to change this.

oh.....

I thought there were a way to change this.

Im working on a project, and i messed a lot with the lights, specially using "uniform scale" on the hot spot and falloff, so now its almost impossible to get back to the default light setup, so i had to reset my work.
