Dual Monitor. MS windows open in the middle

Recommended Posts

Example would be when you click on the windows start button, then choose shutdown. It always opens in the seam between both monitors. (center of the desktop)I am guessing this is more of an OS thing, not a graphic card thing.

I will check out the Nview, thanks.

When I 1st got my dual system I had that problem. What video card are you using? I'm using a Nvidia and I was able to change that setting by going to the settings tab in the display properties. Then click advanced and look through the options on your video card.

I have a nvidia card too, but I prefer using the Dualview option instead. Under display properties => settings => advanced => Quardo xxx => desktop utilities - check Enable Dualview (Treat multiple outputs on an nvidia gpu-based card as separate display devices).

This way my taskbar is limited to my main monitor and all new screens start on the main monitor too. The other monitor becomes more secondary instead of an extention of the main monitor.

Just my personal tastes, but nvidia seems to have lots of buttons to customize how you want it.

No Answer ? I tought you are an Expert !?

Experts are called thus as their usually being paid to fix problems, and don't have free time to always do "community" support. And if your going to try and bug somebody, at least spell correctly :) , kinda of defeats the troll post by itself.

CRD has a partial answer here...you can also go into the nview desktop manager in the control panel (start-settings-ctrl panel), then go to "Windows" Tab and click OFF the Window Control section which states.

Enable Window Spanning Across monitors.

(Click that off)

Then you can also fidget here with some Dialog Box repositing stuff, which can be useful/annoying depending how its set.
