radioVOY
this is a thread maybe posted before. i need certification, i want to know how much i need to spend and how long takes, i have a little skills on architectural vizualization and the courses that i saw teach stuff that i already know. i hope there is a place (in the us) where i can make some tests and pay some money and get a paper from autodesk (3d max). as many of you people, i studied 3d by myself with only one book and the viz help. but i need to probe to some clients my skills. any help, links, info or certification papers will be really apreciated. thanks. ihabkal
it's agreat idea. although I don't think it helps with marketing that much... Architectural renderers have been doing renderings successfully for many many years without Discreet or Autodesk's certification...
gipper51
I'm a noobie to rendering, but I think the work you produce will speak for itself. Rendering is much more of an artform than a professional service that you can put a stamp or seal on. Although it would be nice if there was some kind of standard that says you are qualified to use certain programs, or have an experience level in certain areas. Maybe a version of the automotive industry's ASE certifications.
ihabkal
we have a certified person at work and he does mostly testing and setup for software. not many renderings.
mbr
I agree with the other posts, you don't need certification, especially from Autodesk or Discreet (now part of Autodesk). It's been easier for me to convince clients simply because I do have a solid education in architecture, but it's the images themselves that will make the difference. I'd spend the money in one of these ways: Faster computer - do more renderings faster Art/graphic classes - it can't hurt to have more creative skills Marketing - you can always spend more on marketing, and many times it does help (postcards, business cards, brochures, website, etc.) Or just take the time (time = money, of course) and do a few really good projects, challenge yourself to do something new and different (a large interior, an animation, or night shot, anything to diversify your portfolio and add to your skillset). ihabkal
yes art classes or marketing. I would do it myslef if I had the time and money. more skills that you would really need:)
radioVOY
im totally agree with you, you are right my architectural degree opens a lot or doors even in visualization (becuase i didnt saw anything about it on school). i think maybe was most my ego than a really need of a paper to probe knowledge, many works that i get it over other people are always a quality matter than a certification thing. thnaks a lot for the replys.
