Brolloks
I have a set of plans done on Archicad 9 that I need to use as base to model in Vaz2005. The export from Archicad to Viz works fine but when I try to snap to the vertices to draw a spline object I don't get a straightline but a jagged line. There seems to be snapping points all over the place instead of just the vertices. Any clues?
Brolloks
Found the solution as well. Group all the imported CAD stuff in viz. Move it to the centrepoint (XYZ) of the world space.... Used to have the same issue on DataCad when you import a drawing from another CAD app and the origin is so far away it might as well be in another solar system. bricklyne
Why don't you just do the model in ArchiCAD? Wouldn't that be easier? Seems to be such a waste to have ArchiCAD just for 2D CAD drafting; redundant even.
Brolloks
That's the way the office is set up. Some Genesis workstations, Some new ArchiCad workstations and Viz2005 for visualization. The ArchiCad workstations are new and so are the people using them. The office is in the transition phase of trying to get everybody to work on the same program. I don't know ArchiCad and haven't modelled on it yet. ArchiCad is not big here yet so getting people who actually know the program is limited. I can do a model in Viz a lot faster than going on a course for ArchiCad first. Probably not the right way to go about it, but that is how it works at the moment. Normally I have to work from Genesis plans converted to dwg format.
