Jonny English
It would be good to get some experienced opinions on this.... To produce an interior scene with radiosity what light source would be best used to represent the sun coming through a very large glazed opening? A Daylight/sunlight system or a direct light, or something else? I'm a bit stuck as I keep getting massive burn out using the daylight/sunlight system. caddiellac
Helloo.. I use Photometric lights. IES Sun and IES Sky which is placed outside the building and targeted into the interior space. The IES sky gives nice soft shadows. Just up the shadow samples. Will increase render times though. and control the intensity for both lights. Hope this helps! Jonny English
I used a photometric sun with advanced lighting but still getting burnout where the sun hits the materials - I just want it to feel like a soft sun so that you can see the materials through the light. see attached sample. Any ideas how to do this?
caddiellac
How about controlling the intensity , and using the exposure control. Use automatic or logarithmic. Try using photometric sky too.
Jennifer
Hi, You must use Exposure Control with the exterior Photometric lights. The Logarithmic Exposure control has an Exterior and Daylight checkbox, both of which should be On. Be sure that the units scale is set to real-world values. Have fun!
