Michael Earley
As you can see, I have a bad bleed of the yellow line in this image. Also it looks very cartoony I have attached a link to my settings, I have used a combination of many of the threads I have found here, mostly natty and I think it is like putting a bunch of colors into a bucket.. they all look good on their own.. but together.. any ideas as what I should do or change? This is an animation and the images are already in the 25 min plus category and I have a few thousand to do. I am now trying to change to med animation and see if that helps, it is a big model and I have already cut out all I can . thanks Michael
ihabkal
Hi, lower the first diffuse bounce and the second one to to 1 and .5 respectively. I found they cause things to be overillumonated and less contrast... Medium worked fine on a few animations I did so don't worry use medium. instead of using high multipliers for the first and second bounces use mor elights or better positioned lights. thansk, Ihab
ihabkal
no shadows???
bokkins
try lowering the first bounce up to 0.7, and secondary up to 0.85. In my own theory, the first bounce causes most of the bleeding. hope this will help.
Michael Earley
Thanks guys, ihabkal I did not notice that the shadows had gotten turned off, that would explain the cartoony look. I have made the changes and I am rendeing now, but with the shadows turned back on, my time has greatly increased. I will append this post with photos as soon as they are done. doujay888
go to Vray system Change the object settings of the that specific object. On the object properties. Reduce the value of the Generate GI (default @ 1.0). Ok!
Michael Earley
Been around the block a few times today, tried mentalray out of desperation and got amazingi results with the default settings. Then after hours of switching the file over realizied you cannot use RPCs and I need moving people. With the settings I had before,it was taking more than an hour to render. Now I have tried turning off Indirect Illumantion (GI)and got suprising results. Very fast render and not a bad image. I am upping the lighting now and will post tommrow. thanks for you help. michael
vertexART
Yes, I guess a lot of us still waiting for an answer from Archvision considering their RPC being incompatible with MR.. Nice effort Michael, keep it up. Don't forget to save the FG file, so U can re-use it in the animation. Waiting for an update..
Michael Earley
Hi thier answer was that they are waiting for a 3rd party to make/market a plugin.. not very business savy if you ask me.. they said just keep watching the newsletter.. they have no idea when it will be ready. I have been able to get these to render very quickly using no gi. Will that effect in any way the smoothness of an aniimation? I hope not. michael
