claudia777
(Using Max 5)...I have an 8,000 sq ft facility modeled up and I am trying to get the lighting ready to be able to animate a walkthrough. Going room by room and getting each one individually ready...I am convinced that light travels through walls. How do I minimize this effect without losing my light in other rooms?? ANY advice would be greatly appreciated!
Victor Erthal
It all depends on what kind of light you are going to use. Is it some plugin or it is max's default scanline render? With the default scanline, you could add some spotlights pointing the floor, with a medium hotspot and very large fallof. Set the far attenuation starting about 1 meter above the floor and ending at about 1 meter below it. Set the shadows "shadow map" and spread some of these in each compartiment. You will have to use some additional lights (inferior and sides with no shaddows) to add some general light to the model but it could do it. claudia777
Thanks a bunch! I'll eventually post the final renders for some criticism. It's my 1st bigger project...no need to say more :-)
