be_ha
hey all, I'm new to this forum, but have been doing 3d for the past couple of years with xsi. I'm working on an arch viz project for a company, all the elements in the image are placed where they are because that's what the company wants, nothing more nothing less. anyways, I'd like to push it farther, this is just a test render for now, I've got some issues with the red counters, and also with the black coffee and side tables. but crit away. thanks brad
Marko_JJ
are you gonna put like some pictures on the wall or something? or do the guys not want that.. it seems kinda empty
silviapalara
You may want to look for actual photos of the kind of wood you want to use in the kitchen, it will help to make it more realistic. For the black tables, I run into this problem myself, and what I can suggest is to bevel all the hard edges, even so slightly, it makes a world of difference. Also add some reflectivity to the material so that it isn't so entirely black. Also, even though the tables are supposed to be as black as they could be, remember that nothing in nature is really 100% black so you may want to play around with other very dark colors. be_ha
hey guys, thanks for the crit and suggestions, mark: I agree it does seem empty, but the guys haven't requested anything of that sort and unless they do I'm not going to be putting that stuff in. silv: I think I'm going to try to bump up some of the reflections (esp the black table and possibly the red cupboards) up a little bit more. we'll see how it goes. anyways here's a new render thanks again brad
be_ha
hey all, another update. flirting with gi and hdri together, it still needs some work on texturing I know and I'm going to fool around with more lighting. brad

silviapalara
>what is xsi? It's a 3D modelling, animation and effects software, like Maya, Max, Lightwave, etc, made by Softimage. It is one of the best out there, as far as I know, and it is the closest competitor to Maya.
