THis is a cottage im working on... doing some lighting tests for a fly thru... what do you think? not finished all texturing

Very clean design.

The only suggestion I have is to give an idea about where the light is coming from. Right now it is so evenly lit that we don't know if the light is coming from

outside or from interior lights, and where those lights are.

yeh the light is gonna come thru the windoes and abit form the lights on the roof... Ill change that to make it more obvious.

The stone and logs look very terrific and realistic. The color palette of the scene is very monotone and I think it is hurting it, the carpet and couch are the same as the stone wall giving it a little bland, some color on these items would make this image come alive in my opinion Still a very nice piece of work.

Actually if I may say something about the beautiful texture you used for the fireplace, have you noticed that it seems compressed in the lower part, compared to the chimney? And I agree with the couch needing to be more cheerful.

But it's a really nice image! I love the wooden table on the right, very realistic.

I wouldn't mind seeing a hardwood floor with an area rug. Instead of a sectional couch, I would rather see a sofa and love seat with some wood framing. Is there a reason the track lighting is not centered on the fire place. One last thing; The TV is out of place. Maybe rearranging the furniture.

 

These are just my suggestions. With these changes listed above, this rendering is going to look pretty sharp.

The foreground table is fantastic, but the couch looks a bit like concrete and you can see the logs tiling a bit. Have you used displacement on the log walls?They seem a bit flat where they join the chimney.

thanks for the critiques... i dont think i can change the fabric or style of the couches or floors cuz its an acutall cottage that im doing a fly through for some people. But ill work on the couch not being so concreteish and ill fix the stretched texture on the fireplace.
