jtiscareno
Does anyone know what is an Environmental Graphic Designer??? or 3D Environmental Artist??? I have seen this title in job postings for HNTB and Gensler... I am asuming that it is the same as 3d Artist or 3d Illustrator... Is my assumption correct??? ihabkal
yes they are. they still are confused about the definition of the profession. Ask about overtime pay I saw this "Must be able to work extended hours on a regular basis." in the HNTB listing.
bokkins
Environmental Graphic Designer are those people designing for park signages, street signs, subdivision identity signages (example, the graphic that goes with the sign -> to the clubhouse). I got this idea from the book I bought a year ago, usually, they are landscape architect or architect who are doing these, a graphic artist or fine arts person also fit in this job title. Sawyer
From what I understand a 3d environ artist is a game desinger who works on just about everthing other than the characters ie the buildings and enivronments that the characters are in.
Adehus
Particularly in the case Gensler, an environmental graphic designer would likely be used to generate graphics for use in retail stores, restaurants, and other hospitality-related environments. jtiscareno
I dont know for Gensler but for HNTB the postition stated for experience 3d Max and Combustion. Sounds more like a 3D Illustrator than a graphic designer...
Adehus
Azkit- I'd guess that the two different descriptions are for two different jobs- Environmental Graphic Designer is a very common and widely used title for someone who creates graphics in the retail/hospitality biz and/or does wayfinding signage of they type bokkins described. The other title is anyone's guess, I'd say, but it could very well be someone looking for archviz, especially with the software requirements. Might be worth an inquiry, if you're looking Andy
