Jimkeen
Hi, I've attached an image showing some strange color spots i'm getting in my render. Any idea why? Its affecting a variety of different models / materials / lighting set ups .. Am new to vray so may have missed something simple ... Thanks. lambros
if you search the forum for vray splotches, you will find out that it has come up many times before. Perhaps you should also check the vrayrender forum site.
colorID
u may need to apply uvw mapping for all objects in the scene.
Da_RoCk
hi, i suggest that you post your render settings. Did u use any raytrace material? Any ward types perhaps?
Jimkeen
Hi all, Have attached my render settings. I am a beginner, only used max (self taught) for a week in the middle of a deadline so a few basic questions here: What is / how would uvw mapping help here? What is a ward type? All material are vray. Thanks for all the help.
Crazy Homeless Guy
as stated earlier, search the forum for vray splotches. this is very very common, and has nothing to do with your irradiance settings. ...maybe a vray sticky is in order?
Christopher Nichols
Actully, I think if you lsearch threads with "red dots" that will help.
Mentok
Hey there folks, I'm having pretty much the same problem as Jimkeen (see attached images)....ive had a look around here (searched for 'splotches and whatnot') and haven't really found anything that helped me. I'm pretty sure all my objects are UVW mapped and not really much intersecting geometry and ive tried both double sided and non doublesided materials). I had the coloured splotches all but gotten rid off by applying a white material to everything before re-applying all the textures again very carefully! All of a sudden the 'clowntown' effect reurned and seemed to get worse with every render?? Does anyone have any more information on this? I'd be very grateful and it might help me to not get fired!
