neil poppleton
we have tried out the new tutuorial on pre-calc. irraidance on a single machine then use this saved map for net rendering to avoid flickering, unfortunately the animation had the majority of black render images , due to missing irradiance file / not loaded for some unknown reason, anybody been through this experience ? or any useful tips would be much appreciated regards
Woody
Try mapping the drives on all the machines you're rendering on, use the same letters as well, this could solve your prob. Mapping drives should be in the windows help index if you need it. Good luck.
JamesTaylor
All the drives are mapped on all the rendering machines. A couple of machines are picking up the irridance map which is stored on the main server machine, but unfortunately the majorty are not. There is one machine that picks up the map everytime without a problem, a couple who find it on some occassions but most don't find it at all. doesn't really seem to make much sense, as already stated a tutorial from the offical vray site has been followed, so we expect that the procedure and settings are correct. i'll try and copy the irridance map onto individual machines, with an appropriate path to follow to see if this helps, but don't really see this as being a proper resolution to our problem. any other thoughts appreciated. Christopher Nichols
The Irradiance map should be considered the same as a texture map, so if you put it in the same place that you have your texture maps, you will be fine. Or simply make a special directory and make sure that that directory is included in the "paths" for the texture maps.
JamesTaylor
All the machines have access to the map and the paths are all configired correctly, This is what is odd
