Teratron
Hi guy’s Im using Final Render and I need some help adding believability to this image, it’s a scene from a student film project I’m working on and I need in incorporate actors in to the image. I’m going for the pure white look, very clean and sterile (you would think that would be easy in 3d, heheh) The white one is using these settings 6 fR Cylinder lights with FR shadow maps 128 size and 1 dens Bounces = 6 Contrast = - 10 Con Range = 4 Mult = 2.8 Sec Mult = 1 RH = 512 Density = 250 Min/Max = 4 Balance = 83 Curve Bal = 53 AQ = 50 The Color Same lights plus 1 omni in center set to ambient only Bounce = 7 Contrast = 100 Contrast range = 1 Multiplyer = 1.25 Sec mult = .5 RH = 200 Dens = 200 Ratio = 4 Bal = 63 Curve = 53 AQ = 50 I can’t put a sky light in (which I think would really help) because threes no windows. And as far as the lack of textures go I was hoping to go with out, though they would undoubtedly help the realism. Oh yeah the wall and floor material is just a standard material with no spec or gloss. Thanks guys!
Tommy L
I dont use FR but i think some noise map bumps and some blurred reflections would help. Looks innteresting though, is it a futuristic posh bowling alley?
Teratron
LOL, nah not a bowling alley its actualy a time travel chamber, I think your right especialy about the blury reflections. will update soon Thanks
Teratron
OK an update on the image, The blury reflections are definatly nice, the bump on the flor helps too, the over all effect is nice but still not quite what I want, Ever see THX 1138? Very pure over satuated white, Kinda what im going for, ah well i'll keep trying.
IC
I like the surfaces and the model. I don't think it really needs texturing. I think Tommy L hit the nail on the head though. In all Sci-Fi films you can tell what a space is right away-even if it's alien. I think the control area and seats are too insignificant as they are. It's just a big empty room with some stuff in it at the moment. Keep updating this thread as you progress.
mohamedberry
nice work indeed, i think if u added some groves & polts for example will add to the scene, and make it feel more real good luck
Teratron
Cool good advice guys, I was trying to think of some detail to put in the image, kinda a harde ballance because im going for that sureal quality, so this is what ive come up with so far, along with a few light tweaks, I think its starting to get close. @ mohamedberry, thanks, but what do you mean by "polts " poles? @ IC, I think yout right the panels could use some work, I am trying to keep them simple though Ill try to figure something out. I also noticed some weird light behavior in this render hmm. Thanks again guys
