nisus
Hi All, Does anyones knows a good music collector that also works for classical music? Most populair cd's have only one artist/composer, but for classical music collections it's important to have a difference between the composer and the performing musician. Most collector software that I'm aware of does not handle this correctly. Any tips are welcome ,-) rgds nisus ps: the scanning process HAS to be automatic, because I have to scan over 3000 discs... ;-) (yes i'm a freak!) jackb602
iTunes allows you to enter the performer as well as the composer. Once you insert a CD, it can find the info associated with it. Is this what you're looking for? Jack
Crazy Homeless Guy
are you looking for apps to convert the cd's to mp3, or apps to organize the collection? ..for ripping, i prefer Exact Audio Copy with the latest Lame mp3 codec. ...for archiving, i use either Windows Explorer, or iTunes. ...for renaming, or adding information to existing mp3's, i recomend The Godfather. Exact Audio Copy uses the FreeDB to retreive the names of the songs, artists, ect.. instead of the CDDB. i am one of the users who do not beleive in the CDDB because of what they did to their userbase a couple of years ago. but you mentioned that you needed to store even more info about the songs. i am not sure what kind of filing app would do this best.
