edward80 Posted June 3, 2005 Share Posted June 3, 2005 hello all..this is my 1st tutorial & also my 1st thread in here hope u can keep up with my bad english... a waterfall tutorial 1- Reset your Max & go to Create panel > Geometry > Particle systems > Blizzard http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/1.jpg 2- in the basic parameters choose these settings (you also can choose your own settings) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/2.jpg also change these settings in the Particle generation http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/3.jpg 3- make another blizzard object & change its settings like this Basic parameters : width:85 length:10 percentage of particles:5 Particle Generation : http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/5.jpg Now you should have something that looks like this http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/6.jpg After that we should add some wind to give the waterfall a realistic look 4- Go to the space wraps icon & choose wind then change the settings like this http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/7.jpg then link it to the 1st water fall 5-make another wind with these settings strength:0,105 icon size: 36,771 & link it to the 2nd waterfall Now we should start with the Material 6-Press M to open your material editor change the diffuse color to white, click on the square next to the Diffuse button & choose particle Age http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/8.jpg then choose these settings http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/9.jpg after that go the opacity button & click the square next to it & choose Particle MBlur http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/10.jpg apply the material to both of the waterfalls 7-Now..select the 2nd waterfall, right click & choose properties choose General tab then at the bottom of the screen on the right you should see Motion Blur settings change the settings like this http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/11.jpg Now repeat the last step on the 2nd waterfall & choose these settings Multiplier:100 image slected 8-hit your render button & you should have something that looks like this http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/edward80/max/12.jpg Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

wdaf Posted June 22, 2005 Share Posted June 22, 2005 My Particle MBlur don't works with the blizzard, and the Max 7.0 User Reference says: "The particle system must support the Particle MBlur map.
