archkre
When working in ADT 2005, is it possible to draw everithing just in 2D, as if it was in plain Autocad? I mean make all flat a Z=0? Thanks
angelo
Yep, Every version of ADT has had ALL the 2D capabilities of “vanilla" AutoCAD. ADT 2006 even comes with a shortcut for running it in a 2D mode. Kind of a waste, considering the power of the intelligent AEC objects, but sometimes there is a need (precise profiles/outlines for 3D work, etc.). BobM
Just type menu at the command line and select the acad.mnu file You also could have installed with a short cut to just AutoCAD Hope this helps

Videha
Use "hidden Line Projection" It Will Make A 2d Drawing Out Of Your 3d ... Well Kind Of
TheAllusionisst
Just select all the ADT and 3D objects and explode everything (Twice I believe, first time turns them into blocks in 3D as described below anyway) while viewing the drawing/model in the top view. Everything will become basically a normal 2D drawing. The oposite is true if you want to export a 3D model into a program that doesn't support ADT proxy objects, explode (Some objects like composite solids will take several times) into 3D faces. That is part of the power of ADT, it senses the view you are working in, top view to 2D, 3D view for 3D entities, sort of like the 3D blocks that have 2D representations in top view. I have used this technique when working with firms that use vanilla AutoCAD to create normal 2D line drawings from my 3D ADT drawings, can send them back to ACAD 14 with no problems. These steps are from ADT 3.3, I have no experience in newer versions. Play with it, I am sure you will figure out the steps, it has been a while since I used it and my memory is becoming suspect
