carlangas
Hi all I'm almost done with this bar, I modeled everything but the cues and couch. Just wanted to get some feedback to further improve the images. I still need to add a backdrop or something behind the glass so its not black. I also have a question, the stained glass (the arched one), is a masked material. the mask is the black metal pattern, well I tried using the self illumination but when rendered it came out too bright and lost my metal edges even at 1, I think I shoud use the override for the avd. mat. and increase the luminance but that will make the whole material glow right? i want to be able to see the edges of the stained glass. any suggestions? im using max6 radiosity with photometric lights. CHE
Nice renderings Carlos. I like them a lot. The lighting is very nice. However, some of your materials are way too shiny but that's just my opinion. Other than that, tweak your renderings a little bit in Photoshop. I took the liberty to play with them and this is what I got (level adjustments, color correction, contrast and saturation). I hope you don't mind. Keep up the good work.
ecastillor
CHE CHE CHE!!!! made a really nice render by carlos an even greater render with PS Tweaking... I agree about the shiny part of the materials. But overall the "Irish Pub" feeling is there....maybe a little less red and more green. Could you enlighten us with the steps you did in PS to the image? Congrats to both of you.
carlangas
Thanks che for tweekin that image, it does look better. I guess I sholud decrease the fader for the bar lights so they dont look washed out. about the shinyness of the objects, I want to get rid of the bright points in my reflections but still want them to reflect the surroundings. I know falloff helps but dont know how to make it work in the material itself. I used a std mat. with a raytrace map in the reflection slot. any help with that would be nice
anvaraziz
hmm... Post production is where a render gets masters touch..... nice work friend...
CHE
Eduardo, Thanks for the comments. Like I said, I adjusted the color, contrast, leves (curves) and then I lowered the saturation (hue/saturation). Nothing special really. Is pretty much self explanatory as long as you know how to use Photoshop. Carlos, Have you try using architectural materials instead? Use the ceramic tile/glazed and/or wood varnished template(s) and apply a falloff map (fresnel) in the shininess slot. I hope it helps. Saludos.
