Hector
Hello: I was wondering how can I give "thickness" to a shape made of several polygons. Assuming that it is not possible by extruding or bebeling of course. Say for instance that I have a curved surface and I need to create a "parallel" surface or offset of it. I would like to be able to control the distance between both survaces(thickness). The polygons that form the edges should be created as well. Is there any tool or plug-in for this. Lightwave 7.5 or 8.3 ?? Thanks,
IC
Hi Hector, Doesn't 'Smooth Shift' do just that? Copy and Paste your object to another layer, Flip the Polygons (press F), then Smooth Shift numerically. This creates a bridge between the old and new polygons and the normals are all facing the right way. Take these polys back to the original layer and merge the points. Hector
I had used smooth shift before but I hadn't figured out that I could use with several polygons at the same time to create thickness. It seems to work for the shapes I've tested so far. Thanks

Limbus
There are a bunch of plugs out there. The one from pictrix is one of them. This one is another one: http://www.flay.com/GetDetail.cfm?ID=1665
Hector
Thanks Everyone. Blochi's thickener looks pretty good. I'll give it a try.
